In relatively cold environments, the combination of freeze-thaw and steel bar corrosion is a key factor affecting the durability of concrete. The adjustment of the stirrup ratio would change the mechanical performance of surrounding concrete, while the circumferential compressive stress can further improve the bonding performance. Hence, based on eccentrically tensioned specimens, the influence of corrosion of stirrups and freeze-thaw of concrete on bond properties is discussed in this paper.

The graphene/Si heterojunction is attractive for high gain and broadband photodetection through photogating effect. However, the photoresponsivity in these devices are still limited to under 1 A W if no narrowband absorption-enhanced nanostructures were used. This paper reviews the computer vision and image analysis studies aiming at automated diagnosis or screening of malaria in microscope images of thin blood film smears. On the basis of introducing the background and significance of automatic detection technology, the existing detection technologies are summarized and divided into several steps, including image acquisition, pre-processing, morphological analysis, segmentation, count, and pattern classification components. Then, the principles and implementation methods of each step are given in detail.

Bio-inspired imaging polarization navigation which can provide navigation information and is capable of sensing polarization information has advantages of high-precision and anti-interference over polarization navigation sensors that use photodiodes. Although all types of imaging polarimeters exist, they may not qualify for the research on the imaging polarization navigation algorithm. The spectrometric oil analysis(SOA) is an important technique for machine state monitoring, fault diagnosis and prognosis, and SOA based remaining useful life(RUL) prediction has an advantage of finding out the optimal maintenance strategy for machine system. Because the complexity of machine system, its health state degradation process can't be simply characterized by linear model, while particle filtering(PF) possesses obvious advantages over traditional Kalman filtering for dealing nonlinear and non-Gaussian system, the PF approach was applied to state forecasting by SOA, and the RUL prediction technique based on SOA and PF algorithm is proposed. In the prediction model, according to the estimating result of system's posterior probability, its prior probability distribution is realized, and the multi-step ahead prediction model based on PF algorithm is established.

This paper presents a novel signal processing scheme, named the weighted multi-scale morphological gradient filter (WMMG), for rolling element bearing fault detection. The WMMG can depress the noise at large scale and preserve the impulsive shape details at small scale. Both a simulated signal and vibration signals from a bearing test rig are employed to evaluate the performance of the proposed technique.

A Parzen window based semi-supervised fuzzy c-means (PSFCM) clustering algorithm was presented. The initial clustering centers of fuzzy c-means (FCM) were determined with training samples. In the low-light-level image processing, the time-and-space-domain noise in the signal not only limits the lowest illumination of the system but also makes the image to show random glitter. Applicable testing and analytical technology for noise can enhance the image quality of existing system and provide basis and objective foundation for the development of new image apparatus. From the testing of the power spectrum of image intensifier with the CCD, it was shown that the noise is mostly assembled at the section of low frequency and is approximately white noise at the section of high frequency.
