Introduction: Morphological changes in the prostatic urethra and bladder cavity resulting from Aquablation treatment are still unknown. This study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of Aquablation within one-year post-surgery, focusing on both functional and endoscopic outcomes.
Methods: Prospective enrollment of patients undergoing Aquablation (10/2018-04/2023) included those with baseline International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) ≥ 10, prostate volume from 40 to 80 mL, and Qmax ≤ 12 mL/s.

Background: Elevated body mass index (BMI) ≥25 kg/m is a major preventable cause of cancer. A single BMI measure does not capture the degree and duration of exposure to excess BMI. We investigate associations between adulthood overweight-years, incorporating exposure time to BMI ≥25 kg/m and cancer incidence, and compare this with single BMI.

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) represent significant public health challenges, linked to an elevated risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and influenced by socioeconomic disparities. This longitudinal study investigates the interplay between socioeconomic position (SEP), measured as educational level, CKD/ESRD and CVD using the syndemic framework.
Methods: We used data from the Piedmont Longitudinal Study to establish CKD and ESRD cohorts and to identify incident CVD between January 2013 and December 2017.

Purpose: Three prospective observational studies (Italy, the Netherlands, France) on active surveillance (AS) in patients with extra-abdominal desmoid-type fibromatosis (DTF) support AS as a frontline approach. Identifying prognostic factors for the failure of AS will help determine the strategy. The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic impact of clinical and molecular variables in a larger series.

The selective permeability of the gut epithelial barrier is heavily reliant on the stability of cell junctions, often challenged by a variety of dietary stressors, including non-enzymatic cholesterol oxidation products (COPs). A marked decrease of the tight junctions claudin-1 and occludin, and of the adherens junction E-cadherin was previously detected in differentiated CaCo-2 monolayers challenged by a single addition of 7β-hydroxycholesterol (7βOHC) or 7-ketocholesterol (7KC) in the lowest micromolar range. However, in the diet, oxysterols are occurring in a mixture.

Introduction: Personalized medicine has revolutionized the clinical management of patients with solid tumors. However, the large volumes of molecular data derived from next-generation sequencing (NGS) and the lack of harmonized bioinformatics pipelines drastically impact the clinical management of patients with solid tumors. A possible solution to streamline the molecular interpretation and reporting of NGS data would be to adopt automated data analysis software.

Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome (RSTS) is a rare autosomal dominant neurodevelopmental disorder linked to haploinsufficiency of CREBBP (RSTS1) and EP300 (RSTS2) genes. Characteristic features often include distinctive facial traits, broad thumbs and toes, short stature, and various degrees of intellectual disability. The clinical presentation of RSTS is notably variable, making it challenging to establish a clear genotype-phenotype correlation, except for specific variants which cause the allelic Menke-Hennekam syndrome.

The MET receptor, commonly known as HGF (hepatocyte growth factor) receptor, is a focus of extensive scientific research. MET has been linked to embryonic development, tissue regeneration following injury, tumorigenesis, and cancer metastasis. These functions underscore its involvement in numerous cellular processes, including stemness, proliferation, motility, cell dissociation, and survival.

Background: Over the last few years, many efforts have been made to leverage historical information in clinical trials. Incorporating historical data into current trials allows for a more efficient design, smaller studies, or shorter duration and may potentially increase the relative amount of information on efficacy and safety. Despite these advantages, it is crucial to select external data sources appropriately to avoid introducing potential bias into the new study.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a critical global health issue and a leading cause of heart failure. Indeed, while neonatal mammals can regenerate cardiac tissue mainly through cardiomyocyte proliferation, this ability is lost shortly after birth, resulting in the adult heart's inability to regenerate after injury effectively. In adult mammals, the adverse cardiac remodelling, which compensates for the loss of cardiac cells, impairs cardiac function due to the non-contractile nature of fibrotic tissue.

Aims: To assess the outcomes of robotic surgery for patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunctions (NLUTD).
Materials And Methods: Studies evaluating the outcomes (efficacy and safety) of robot-assisted ileal conduit creation or artificial urinary sphincter (R-AUS) implantation or augmentation cystoplasty or continent urinary diversion creation in patients with NLUTD were included. The search strategy and studies selection were performed on Medline, Embase and Cochrane using the PICOS method according to the PRISMA statement (PROSPERO 2022 CRD42022333157).
