The Novice NP Role Transition (NNPRT) Scale is the first instrument to measure the concept. The preliminary exploratory factor analysis revealed a five-factor structure: organizational alignment, mentorship, sense of purpose, perceived competence and self-confidence, and compensation.

Background And Aim: As a new feed additive, bile acid (BA) can promote the absorption and transport of lipids and fat-soluble vitamins. In recent years, BAs have been widely used in animal feed to promote fat absorption. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of bile salt supplementation in the diet of yellow-feathered broilers on messenger RNA (mRNA) expression of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBF1), fatty acid synthase (FAS), acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC), and fatty acid transport protein 4 (FATP4).

Cold exposure has been recognized as an important risk factor for hypertension, and altered gut microbiota has been reported to be associated with hypertension. We hypothesized that there is a plausible relationship between gut microbiota and cold-induced hypertension (CIH). Therefore, we explored the potential link between the gut microbiota and its metabolites with CIH.

Impact of high, low, and non-optimum temperatures on chronic kidney disease in a changing climate, 1990-2019: A global analysis.

Background: Although a few studies have reported the relationship between high and low temperatures and chronic kidney disease (CKD), the global burden of CKD attributable to extreme heat and cold in recent decades remains unknown.

Methods: Based on the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2019, we obtained data on age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR) and age-standardized rates of disability-adjusted life years (ASDR) per 100 000 population of the CKD attributable to non-optimum temperatures from 1990 to 2019. The annual mean temperature of each country was used to divide each country into five climate zones (tropical, subtropical, warm-temperate, cool-temperate, and boreal).

We search for a first-order phase transition gravitational wave signal in 45 pulsars from the NANOGrav 12.5-year dataset. We find that the data can be modeled in terms of a strong first order phase transition taking place at temperatures below the electroweak scale.

Learning from Graduate and Undergraduate Public Health Virtual Internship Experiences with State Title V Agencies During COVID-19, Summer 2020.

Background: Since summer 2014, the National MCH Workforce Development Center has placed students from MCH public health graduate (Centers of Excellence and Catalyst) and undergraduate (MCH Pipeline) programs, all funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, in summer internships with state and territorial Title V agencies. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Title V MCH Internship Program was offered virtually.

Participants And Methods: This manuscript includes quantitative and qualitative data from 2017 to 2020 generated by both Title V MCH Internship student interns (n = 76) and their preceptors (n = 40) with a focus on a comparison between the 2020 virtual year and the 2017-2019 years.

Health impacts and spatiotemporal variations of fine particulate and its typical toxic constituents in five urban agglomerations of China.

Fine particulate matter (PM) and its constituents pose great threatens to public health. The spatial-temporal characteristics of some key chemical constituents, such as sulfate, nitrate, and especially toxic trace elements in China has remained unclear, limiting further studies on evaluating the associated public health. Here, we conduct a two-yearlong (2012 and 2015) air quality simulation by coupling localized emission inventory for primary air pollutants and trace elements with a modified CMAQ model in a domain of China and five urban agglomerations.

Chemotyping of ∆8-THC-Containing e-Liquids Analyzed during the 2019-2020 New York State EVALI Investigation.

The investigation of the 2019-2020 E-cigarette or Vaping Product Use-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI) outbreak in New York State provided a unique opportunity to examine the formulations and chemical components found in clandestine cannabis-containing e-liquids. In this EVALI investigation, it was determined that an unusually high proportion (16%) of the cannabis e-liquids analyzed contained significant levels of ∆8-tetrahydrocannabinol (∆8-THC). Although not thought to be the causative agent in the outbreak, the manufacturing origin of vaping e-liquids containing large concentrations of ∆8-THC was of great interest, since high ∆8-THC concentrations are not observed in the extracts of common cannabis strains.

Injury is the leading cause of death for children but little is known about what types of injury prevention messages are communicated on Instagram. Conducted in the United States, the aim of this study was to better understand child injury prevention messages on Instagram to develop recommendations for the future. Informed by Social Cognitive Theory, a quantitative content analysis was conducted on all Instagram posts from selected organizations from May 2018 through April 2019.

In-vitro stress relaxation response of neonatal peripheral nerves.

Characterizing the viscoelastic behavior of neonatal peripheral nerves is critical in understanding stretch-related peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs) in neonates. This study investigated the in-vitro viscoelastic stress relaxation response of neonatal piglet brachial plexus (BP) and tibial nerves at two different strain levels (10% and 20%) and stress relaxation testing durations (90- and 300-seconds). BP and tibial nerves from 20 neonatal piglets were harvested and pre-stretched to either 10% or 20% strain at a dynamic rate of 100 mm/min to simulate conditions, such as shoulder dystocia, that may lead to stretch-related PNIs in neonates.

A Systematic Review of the Tensile Biomechanical Properties of the Neonatal Brachial Plexus.

Brachial plexus (BP) birth injury has a reported incidence of 1 to 4 per 1000 live births. During complicated deliveries, neonatal, maternal, and other birth-related factors can cause over-stretching or avulsion of the neonatal brachial plexus leading to injury. Understanding biomechanical responses of the neonate brachial plexus when subjected to stretch can offer insight into the injury outcomes while guiding the development of preventative maneuvers that can help reduce the occurrence of neonatal brachial plexus injuries.
