A novel mixed ligand Mn(II) complex of 6-Bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid (6Brpca) and 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-dipyridyl has been prepared and structurally characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The spectroscopic properties were also analyzed by using FT-IR and UV-Vis spectral techniques. The coordination complexes having transition metal ions are known to have promising optical nonlinearity behavior.

For more than two decades, weedy rice (Oryza sativa L.) has been controlled in rice fields by using imidazolinone (IMI) herbicide-resistant rice technology (Clearfield®). Outcrossing in weedy rice populations and spontaneous mutations are potential problems with herbicide-resistant crop management technologies, such as the IMI-resistant rice.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a commonly performed orthopedic procedure, and is often accompanied by significant postoperative pain. The supra-inguinal fascia iliaca block (SIFIB), similar to an anterior lumbar plexus block, is frequently used in hip surgeries. The interspace between the popliteal artery and capsule of the posterior knee (IPACK) block is a regional anesthesia technique that targets the posterior innervation of the knee capsule.

Research Question: What are the embryonic profiles and oocyte maturation dynamics in patients with tubulin beta eight class VIII (TUBB8) mutations leading to oocyte maturation abnormalities (OMAS), and are pregnancies possible in this population?

Design: A prospective cohort study was undertaken in a private fertility clinic between January 2019 and December 2022. Whole-exome genomic studies (WES) were performed to detect mutation types. In-vitro maturation (IVM) was compared in 18 subjects: nine with TUBB8 mutations, and nine without TUBB8 mutations to act as the control group.

Article Synopsis
  • Glofitamab is a bi-specific antibody used to treat relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma, showing potential in a phase II trial, but real-world data is limited.
  • A retrospective study in Turkey analyzed 43 DLBCL patients receiving glofitamab, revealing median overall survival of 8.8 months and a 1-year progression-free survival rate of 83%.
  • While the treatment had promising effectiveness, toxicity was a significant concern, with deaths linked to disease progression and treatment-related side effects like cytokine release syndrome.

Background: It has been stated that microRNA (miRNA) plays an important role in development, homeostasis, and immune functions, and abnormal miRNA expression may cause faster disease progression.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine miR-203, miR-142-3p, miR-146a, miR-146b, miR-155, and miR-29b gene expressions in the saliva of smokers and non-smokers with the periodontal disease before and after non-surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT).

Methods: A total of 90 individuals, 30 with periodontitis, 30 with gingivitis, and 30 periodontally healthy (control group), were included.

Otoliths are calcareous anatomical structures in the inner ear of fishes, and they can be used in the discrimination of fish species and stocks due to their species-specific shape. Sagittal otoliths in the Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis and Lepidorhombus boscii, two flatfish species of the same genus distributed in the Aegean Sea, were compared using morphology, morphometry and contour shape analyses. Blind and eyed side otoliths of Lepidorhombus species were evaluated separately due to their morphological features and statistical differences in morphometric measurements (p < 0.
