Clinical Features and Natural Course of Hidradenitis Suppurativa in Turkey: A Multicenter Study.

Introduction: The natural history, the progression of a disease process in an individual over time, has not yet been fully elucidated in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). In this large multicenter study, we aimed to investigate the natural history of HS and its gender differences.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 827 patients.

A novel mixed ligand Mn(II) complex of 6-Bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid (6Brpca) and 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-dipyridyl has been prepared and structurally characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The spectroscopic properties were also analyzed by using FT-IR and UV-Vis spectral techniques. Relationship of psoriatic arthritis with nail and scalp involvement in Turkish psoriasis patients: Multicentered cross-sectional study.

Psoriasis is a common multisystem inflammatory disease, and arthritis is an essential component of the disorder, requiring early diagnosis and prompt treatment for successful management. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between nail and scalp involvement and other covariates with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This cross-sectional study, conducted from June 2021 through December 2021, included 763 patients from 11 different centers in Turkey.

The micro CT evaluation of crown and root pulp volume versus dentin thickness in teeth in postmortem interval (PMI).

Determining the postmortem interval (PMI) is one of the main study subjects of forensic sciences. The main purpose of this prospective in vitro study that was the Micro-CT evaluation of teeth crown and root pulp volume versus dentin thickness in terms of PMI determination. The study involved 60 female Wistar rats, with weights ranging from 270 to 320 g.

Comparative evaluation of shear wave elastography elasticity values in thyroid nodules with cytology results and TI-RADS scoring in differentiation of benign-malignant nodules.

Purpose: The aim of this prospective study was to investigate the diagnostic performance of shear wave elastography (SWE) in differentiating benign and malignant thyroid nodules and their correlation with the American College of Radiology Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (ACR TI-RADS).

Methods: This prospective study included 370 thyroid nodules in 308 patients aged 18-70 years. All the patients underwent B-mode ultrasound (US), Doppler examination, and SWE and were given an ACR TI-RADS risk score before fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) and/or surgery.

Human Papillomavirus Infection (HPV) Prevalence in the Black Sea Region of Turkey: Primary HPV Screening for Cervical Cancer.

Objective: Planning vaccination and treatment options requires knowledge about the regional incidence of human papillomavirus infection (HPV) and its genotypes. The aim of our study was to determine the regional prevalence of HPV with genotypic subclassification and to evaluate the efficacy of HPV testing in cervical screening.  Material and Method: This retrospective cohort study analyzed records of 10,152 women aged 30-65 from the On Dokuz Mayıs University Medical Faculty's Gynecology Clinic, excluding those with a history of cervical disease, hysterectomy, or current pregnancy.

[First Senior Citizens University in Turkey-Empirical findings on the personal benefits of the programmes from the participants' perspective].

The article reports on the evaluation of the programmes offered by the "60+Tazelenme Üniversitesi" (University of Antalya's Senior Citizens' University) from the users' perspective. 174 users (from a population of 6000 people) evaluated in a differentiated according to 18 characteristics their expectations of the programme before enrolling in the four-semester study programme and the personal benefits of the programme after completing it. The results show a highly differentiated picture of the benefits realized with regard to areas of competence and quality of life.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a commonly performed orthopedic procedure, and is often accompanied by significant postoperative pain. The supra-inguinal fascia iliaca block (SIFIB), similar to an anterior lumbar plexus block, is frequently used in hip surgeries. The interspace between the popliteal artery and capsule of the posterior knee (IPACK) block is a regional anesthesia technique that targets the posterior innervation of the knee capsule.

TUBB8 mutations as a cause of oocyte maturation abnormalities: presentation of oocyte and embryo profiles and novel mutations.

Research Question: What are the embryonic profiles and oocyte maturation dynamics in patients with tubulin beta eight class VIII (TUBB8) mutations leading to oocyte maturation abnormalities (OMAS), and are pregnancies possible in this population?

Design: A prospective cohort study was undertaken in a private fertility clinic between January 2019 and December 2022. Whole-exome genomic studies (WES) were performed to detect mutation types. In-vitro maturation (IVM) was compared in 18 subjects: nine with TUBB8 mutations, and nine without TUBB8 mutations to act as the control group.

Internalized Stigma in Hidradenitis Suppurativa: A Multicenter Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) causes significant physical, social, and psychological burdens. Internalized stigma, acceptance of negative attitudes and stereotypes of society regarding a person's illness, has not been studied previously in HS.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dough properties of refined flour (RF) with the addition of hazelnut skin (HS), cross-linked starch (CS), and oxidized starch (OS).

Comparative study of conventional internal limiting membrane peeling versus temporal inverted internal limiting membrane flap for large macular hole treatment.

Purpose: To compare the anatomical, morphological, and functional outcomes of the conventional internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling versus temporal inverted ILM flap technique for large full-thickness macular holes (FTMHs).

Methods: Sixty eyes of 60 patients with a minimum base diameter >600 μm were included in this retrospective interventional study. Patients were divided into conventional ILM peeling (Group 1) and temporal inverted ILM flap (Group 2) groups.

Myocardial bridgin in an adult with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a rare congenital coronary artery anomaly. It is often detected incidentally, and its true incidence in the general population is not known. Myocardial bridging may cause compression of a coronary artery, and it has been suggested that myocardial ischemia may result.

We report the national data on the outcomes of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for thalassemia major (TM) patients in Turkey on behalf of the Turkish Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation Group.
