Objective: Image-Guided Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) provides a survival advantage in locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). Although side effects are seen less with this technique, dose parameters that cause urinary side effects are still questionable. We aim to investigate whether the radiotherapy doses of the lower urinary tract substructures (LUSS) affect the urinary system side effects (USSE) of cervical cancer external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and the IGABT.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explored the connection between probable sarcopenia, osteoporosis, and supraspinatus tendon tears in postmenopausal women, finding that these conditions often co-occur.
  • Out of 1443 participants, 268 (18.6%) had supraspinatus tendon tears, which were more common on the dominant side and associated with factors like older age, lower education levels, and poorer grip strength.
  • Key risk factors for these tears included age, hypertension, osteoporosis, and probable sarcopenia, suggesting that assessments of tendon health should be prioritized in patients with these risk factors.

  • The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is effective for treating intracranial aneurysms, yet the postoperative use of aspirin shows varied practices among clinicians.
  • A multicenter study involving 1492 patients compared outcomes between those who took aspirin post-surgery and those who didn't, revealing that aspirin users had better functional outcomes and lower mortality rates but higher rates of retreatment.
  • The findings suggest that while aspirin may improve recovery and reduce death rates after WEB treatment, it also increases the likelihood of needing additional procedures, indicating a need for further research on optimal postoperative care.

In this study, we investigated the molecular phenotype-cancer relationship that may favor the main metastatic tendencies of cancer by comparing the association of receptor subtypes with the presence of metastasis, serosal metastasis, and/or visceral metastases in patients diagnosed with breast cancer. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated 853 patients who were diagnosed with breast cancer and followed up at our hospital between 2017 and 2022. The probability of metastasis in the most common tumor group, the non-special type of invasive carcinoma was significantly higher than that in other tumor groups.
