Objective: Image-Guided Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) provides a survival advantage in locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). Although side effects are seen less with this technique, dose parameters that cause urinary side effects are still questionable. We aim to investigate whether the radiotherapy doses of the lower urinary tract substructures (LUSS) affect the urinary system side effects (USSE) of cervical cancer external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and the IGABT.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between interleukin-33 (IL-33) and its receptor Soluble Suppression of Tumorigenicity-2 (sST2) levels and bacterial infections during febrile neutropenia (FN) in pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In this prospective, case-control study, participants were divided into 3 groups: ALL patients with FN (Group A), ALL patients without neutropenia and fever (Group B), and healthy children without infection and chronic disease (Group C). First case of medullary osteogenic sarcoma of the pelvis: 12-year follow-up of reconstruction with hemipelvis allograft after resection.

A 45-year-old male patient with low-grade central osteosarcoma (LGCO) in the periacetabular region underwent wide resection, fresh frozen hemipelvis allograft reconstruction, and total hip prosthesis. To the best of our knowledge, this case is the first example of low-grade osteogenic sarcoma in flat bones. Aseptic loosening of the acetabular cup was observed 44 months after the operation, and it was revised with a constrained acetabular cup.

The Effectiveness of Adjuvant PD-1 Inhibitors in Patients With Surgically Resected Stage III/IV Acral Melanoma.

Our aim was to assess the efficacy of adjuvant programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors and compare the other adjuvant treatments in patients with surgically resected stage III or IV acral melanoma. This study is a multicenter, retrospective analysis. We included 114 patients with stage III or IV acral malignant melanoma who underwent surgery within the past 10 years.

The Effect of Topical Benzydamine Hydrochloride and Cuff Pressure Monitorization on Postoperative Sore Throat Due to Intubation.

Objective: Postoperative sore throat (POST) is the most common discomfort after endotracheal intubation. Damage to the tracheal mucosa caused by inappropriate endotracheal tube (ETT) cuff pressure has been shown as the major factor. Monitoring the ETT cuff pressure at a certain value reduces this damage.

Effect of Complex Decongestive Therapy on Quality of Life and Physical Parameters in Head and Neck Lymphedema.

Objective: To assess the effect of complex decongestive therapy treatment (CDT) on quality of life, neck disability, cervical range of motion, and facial and neck lymphedema size using specific anatomical landmark points.

Conclusion: The frequency and score of SDB were higher in patients with uncontrolled asthma. Frequency and score of SDB were significantly affected by the severity of asthma. SDB must be evaluated in preschool children with uncontrolled asthma.

Ceragenins (CSAs) are a new class of antimicrobial agents designed to mimic the activities of endogenous antimicrobial peptides. In this study, the antibacterial activities of various ceragenins (CSA-13, CSA-44, CSA-90, CSA-131, CSA-138, CSA-142, and CSA-192), linezolid, and daptomycin were assessed against 50 non-repeated spp. (17 of them vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus-VRE) isolated from various clinical specimens.

Our single-centre retrospective study aimed to investigate the relationship between preoperative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) findings and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values and lymphovascular invasion (LVI) status of the lesions in patients with clinically-radiologically lymph node-negative invasive breast cancer.
