Introduction: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is one of the most aggressive cancers in women, therefore it is necessary to determine novel prognostic markers to estimate survival and advancement the treatment of the disease. Recently, PCMT1, a protein mediating TNBC immune infiltration, has gained attention as a potential therapeutic target. The aim of the study was to demonstrate the relationship between PCMT1 protein overexpression as a prognostic indicator for patients with TNBC cancer and patient survival.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare two techniques of irradiation of left-sided breast cancer patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery, three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy technique (3D-CRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), in terms of dose distribution in the planning target volume (PTV) and organs at risk (OARs). The second aim of the study was estimation of the projected risk of radiation-induced secondary cancer for both radiotherapy techniques.

Materials And Methods: For 25 patients who underwent CT simulation in deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH), three treatment plans were generated: one using a three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy technique and two using volumetric modulated arc therapy.

Aim Of The Study: The aim of this study was to analyse the diagnostic accuracy of F-fluoro-ethyl-tyrosine (F-FET) PET/CT tracer in multiple myeloma.

Material And Methods: The analysed group included: patients with newly diagnosed active myeloma (eight patients); in very good partial remission or complete remission (VGPR or CR) after treatment (nine patients); and with active disease after relapse (15 patients).

Results: In patients with newly diagnosed myeloma, 64 lesions were found using CT and 83 lesions using F-FET.

Aim Of The Study: The goal of this work was to assess upper-limb sequelae among patients undergoing breast-conserving therapy (BCT) for breast cancer 5-6 years after the surgical procedure.

Material And Methods: A controlled clinical study was conducted on 128 patients who had undergone surgery 5-6 years prior. BCT + ALND (axillary lymph node dissection) was performed in 58 patients and 69 underwent BCT + SLND (sentinel lymph node dissection).

Introduction: There is a need for a new biochemical marker of aggressive prostate cancer (PCa). Inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 (IMPDH2) is a candidate for such a marker - its activity is increased in certain tumors and neoplastic cell lines, including PCa, and may correlate with cancer aggressiveness.

Material And Methods: IMPDH2 levels were measured in blood samples from 34 PCa patients.

Abstract Introduction and objectives. As tissue engineering and regenerative medicine have continued to evolve within the field of biomedicine, the fundamental importance of bio-products has become increasingly apparent. This true not only in cases where they are derived directly from the natural environment, but also when animals and plants are specially bred and cultivated for their production.

Background: The knowledge of the epidemiology of left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) in relationship with cardiovascular diseases, their risk factors and history of previous anticancer therapy may lead to development of safer and more effective therapeutic strategies in patients with breast cancer (BC).

Patients And Methods: Oncologists from various Polish Centers reported 299 new cases of metastatic BC requiring chemotherapy. All registered previous cardiological and oncological therapies should be conducted in accordance with the mandatory guidelines.

Background: There are differences in the reference diagnostic levels for the computed tomography (CT) of the chest as cited in different literature sources. The doses are expressed either in weighted CT dose index (CTDIVOL) used to express the dose per slice, dose-length product (DLP), and effective dose (E). The purpose of this study was to assess the radiation dose used in Low Dose Computer Tomography (LDCT) of the chest in comparison with routine chest CT examinations as well as to compare doses delivered in low dose chest CT with chest X-ray doses.
