The article reflects the potential for correcting intestinal microbiota disorders in the complex therapy of patients with COVID-19. It has been noted that the inclusion of dietary fiber in the diet contributes to protection against disruption of the integrity of the intestinal barrier and may limit bacterial translocation into the systemic circulation. The possibility of using psyllium (Mucofalk) is reflected, the action of which is realized both through its sorption, cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties in viral lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, and through stimulation of the own beneficial intestinal microbiota.

One of severe clinical signs is damage to lower limb arteries followed by trophic and purulent-necrotic lesions of soft tissues (diabetic foot syndrome) and risk of amputation.

[Long-term neurological outcomes in premature children with excitotoxic brain damage].

Objective: To establish the prognostic significance of a biomarker of excitotoxic brain damage (antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) glutamate receptor) as a predictor of damage to the central nervous system (CNS) in preterm infants.

Material And Methods: 24 newborns with a gestational age of 24-33 weeks were examined with the determination of the level of antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the NMDA glutamate receptor on the 21st day of life.

Results: In the course of the study, it was found that the level of antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the NMDA glutamate receptor on the 21st day of life, in combination with the level of cord blood lactate and the resistance of cerebral vessels on the 1st day of life, can be predictors of CNS damage in a premature baby at the age of 1 month of corrected age.

The method of modulation interference laser microscopy is of considerable interest to researchers in medicine in the context of obtaining the necessary information about the morphological characteristics of microbial cells and the microbiome community as a whole during the colonization of a certain ecological niche in the human body.

People in the neighboring countries have shown tremendous support by stepping forward to donate food, clothes, medications, money, and other essential supplies.

Sick leave duration as a potential marker of functionality and disease severity in depression.

To discuss the impact of depression on work and how depression-related sick leave duration could be a potential indicator and outcome for measuring functionality in depression. Our review was based on a literature search and expert opinion that emerged during a virtual meeting of European psychiatrists that was convened to discuss this topic. Current evidence demonstrates that depression-related sick leave duration is influenced by multiple disease-, patient- and work-related factors, together with societal attitudes towards depression and socioeconomic conditions.

Metabolic Features of Saliva in Breast Cancer Patients.

The aim of the work was to study the metabolic characteristics of saliva in breast cancer and the subsequent assessment of the potential information content of its individual biochemical indicators. The study included 487 patients of the Omsk Clinical Oncology Center with morphologically verified breast cancer and 298 volunteers without breast pathologies. Saliva samples were obtained from all patients before the start of treatment, and the values of 34 biochemical indicators were determined.

[Influence of fluoride preparations for the prevention of dental caries on the enamel solubility].

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a number of popular fluorine-containing caries prophylactic drugs by determining the level of solubility of tooth enamel in laboratory conditions.

Material And Methods: For testing fluorine-containing preparations, three observation groups were formed: Group I - using the preparation with the content of fluorides 4%; Group II - with a preparation for deep fluoridation of enamel, consisting of a liquid saturated with fluorine, copper and magnesium, as well as a suspension of calcium hydroxide; Group III - with a three-component gel based on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) the content of fluorides 1.5%.
