The article reflects the potential for correcting intestinal microbiota disorders in the complex therapy of patients with COVID-19. It has been noted that the inclusion of dietary fiber in the diet contributes to protection against disruption of the integrity of the intestinal barrier and may limit bacterial translocation into the systemic circulation. The possibility of using psyllium (Mucofalk) is reflected, the action of which is realized both through its sorption, cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties in viral lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, and through stimulation of the own beneficial intestinal microbiota.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is still one of the most common endocrine diseases despite all available technologies in modern medicine. In recent years, it was shown that severity and duration of DM are closely associated with vascular wall lesions (the called micro-and macroangiopathy). One of severe clinical signs is damage to lower limb arteries followed by trophic and purulent-necrotic lesions of soft tissues (diabetic foot syndrome) and risk of amputation.

Objective: To establish the prognostic significance of a biomarker of excitotoxic brain damage (antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) glutamate receptor) as a predictor of damage to the central nervous system (CNS) in preterm infants.
Material And Methods: 24 newborns with a gestational age of 24-33 weeks were examined with the determination of the level of antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the NMDA glutamate receptor on the 21st day of life.
Results: In the course of the study, it was found that the level of antibodies to the NR2 subunit of the NMDA glutamate receptor on the 21st day of life, in combination with the level of cord blood lactate and the resistance of cerebral vessels on the 1st day of life, can be predictors of CNS damage in a premature baby at the age of 1 month of corrected age.

Reperfusion damage to the cellular structures of tissues in the early post-ischemic period is a consequence of the restoration of blood flow and reoxygenation. Currently, there is no effective treatment for reperfusion metabolic disorders in clinical practice. Over the past decades, biological studies of hypoxia and the role of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1), potentiating succinatoxidase oxidation by signal from the succinate-dependent receptor (GPR91), have significantly improved the understanding of oxygen homeostasis during the period of recovery of blood flow.

Breast milk is a source of all the essential nutritional components necessary for the full growth and development of the child, therefore, it is necessary to study its composition and physical and chemical properties in order to adapt human milk substitutes. Adapted infant milk formulas are produced mainly from cow's milk, bringing formula nutrient composition closer to the composition of women's milk, adapting it in accordance with the requirements of the infant body. However, technological processes for the production of dairy products contribute to the activation of oxidative reactions, the violation of protein conformation.

Authors have developed technique of endoscopic inspection of scrotal organs allowing to visualize sufficiently well the poles of testis with head and tail of epididymis, posterior-lateral space behind the epididymis and to perform targeted biopsy of ovarian tissue thus decreasing traumatic effects of the operation. Endoscopy of scrotal organs has been performed in 11 patients with azoospermia of different origin. 18 endoscopic videosurgical examinations have been performed before carrying out Micro-TESE and 10 biopsies of ovarian tissue have been made under visual control with the same patients.

The development of mycotic colonization of the base surface with further biodegradation of acrylic plastics is currently of undoubted interest. The oral cavity is a favorable ecological niche for colonization by fungi and their subsequent possible invasion into the epithelium of the oral mucosa. The method of modulation interference laser microscopy is of considerable interest to researchers in medicine in the context of obtaining the necessary information about the morphological characteristics of microbial cells and the microbiome community as a whole during the colonization of a certain ecological niche in the human body.

War refugees and veterans have been known to frequently develop neuropsychiatric conditions including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety disorders that tend to leave a long-lasting scar and impact their emotional response system. The shear stress, trauma, and mental breakdown from overnight displacement, family separation, and killing of friends and families cannot be described enough. Victims often require years of mental health support as they struggle with sleep difficulties, recurring memories, anxiety, grief, and anger.

To discuss the impact of depression on work and how depression-related sick leave duration could be a potential indicator and outcome for measuring functionality in depression. Our review was based on a literature search and expert opinion that emerged during a virtual meeting of European psychiatrists that was convened to discuss this topic. Current evidence demonstrates that depression-related sick leave duration is influenced by multiple disease-, patient- and work-related factors, together with societal attitudes towards depression and socioeconomic conditions.

Urinary tract infections, especially recurrent cases, are caused by uropathogens, which, after repeated courses of antibiotic therapy, can develop antibiotic resistance, which requires a search for an alternative treatment strategy. In this regard, the restoration of nonspecific protective factors that normally prevent the adhesion and colonization of pathogens is of interest for clinicians. To date, scientific data has been accumulated about the anti-uropathogenic and antiadhesive activity of many plant extracts.
