Comparison of the Cosmetic Efficacy of Extractum Cepae and Silicone-Based Gel in Upper Blepharoplasty.

Background: Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is one of the most common surgeries performed worldwide. However, an important problem after surgery is scar formation. The authors aimed to compare the efficacy of extractum cepae and silicone-based gels on postoperative scar appearance in patients undergoing upper eyelid blepharoplasty.

Synthesis, characterization, and phosphorus adsorption of Mg/Fe-modified biochar from cotton stalk pretreated with Coriolus versicolor.

In recent years, the research potential in utilizing biochars as adsorbents in adsorption processes has grown due to their eco-friendly and economical nature. However, biochar often possesses a negative surface charge that limits its affinity for binding anions. Nitric acid washing and pretreatment with Coriolus versicolor can break down the lignocellulosic structure in cotton stalk waste, facilitating the subsequent impregnation of Mg and Fe metal oxides.

Serum vitamin D, hemoglobin A1c and vitamin B12 levels in patients with gingivitis and periodontitis stages.

To compare the serum vitamin D, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and vitamin B12 levels in patients with gingivitis and four different periodontitis stages diagnosed according to the 2017 Periodontal Disease Classification. A total of 606 patients were included in the study who were diagnosed with gingivitis and stage I-IV periodontitis. Patients were divided into groups based on disease stage, and the HbA1c, vitamin D and B12 levels of the patients were compared and analyzed.

Effects of different marination conditions on the physico-chemical and microbiological quality of anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) fillets inoculated with Morganella psychrotolerans during cold storage.

This study is aimed to determine the effects of different marination conditions (1, 2, 3, 4% acetic and 6, 8, 10% NaCl) on the anchovy fillets inoculated with Morganella psychrotolerans during refrigerated storage (4±1°C) for three months. According to the results of study, marination has great inhibitory effects on the growth of M. psychrotolerans.

Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin E Regulate the Bioactivity of Human Corneal Fibroblast Cells.

Corneal fibroblasts are involved in the wound healing of the cornea with proliferation, migration, and differentiation processes. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and vitamin E can enhance corneal wound healing when applied after a corneal lesion as an eye drop. Thus, this study was performed to determine the potential efficiency of a CoQ10 ophthalmical solution containing a CoQ10 and vitamin E D-α-tocopherol polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS)-derived formulation in human corneal fibroblasts (HCFs) .

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical significance of blood-cell associated inflammation markers in patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) and sickle cell retinopathy (SCR).

Methods: Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR), systemic immune inflammation index (SIII), systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), systemic inflammation modulation index (SIMI) and aggregate systemic inflammation index (AISI) were calculated. This study included 45 healthy controls (Group 1) and 100 SCD (Group 2).

The Effect of Conventional Open Thyroidectomy on Clinical Results and Respiratory Function Tests in Multinodular Goitre.

Aim: The primary aim of our study was to measure the effect of conventional open thyroidectomy performed for patients with multinodular goiter (MNG) on pulmonary volumes measured with respiratory function tests independent from surgical indications. The effect of gender and menstrual cycle phase on patıents undergoıng ımpacted thırd molar surgery: a cross-sectıonal study.

Background: Achieving the best outcomes in surgical procedures requires optimizing all patient-related psychological and physiological factors. This study was carried out to evaluate the preoperative anxiety and fear levels, and postoperative symptoms in patients undergoing impacted third molar surgery, and to compare the relevant psychological and physical findings between genders and between women in different menstrual cycle phases.

Impact of Temperature Optimization of ITO Thin Film on Tandem Solar Cell Efficiency.

This study examined the impact of temperature optimization on indium tin oxide (ITO) films in monolithic HJT/perovskite tandem solar cells. Purpose: Building on social exchange and leader-member exchange theories, this paper aims to propose a model of the impact of coronavirus-induced anxiety on health-care professionals' burnout and turnover intention through the mediation role of servant leadership.

Design/methodology/approach: This model was examined by adopting partial least square-based structural equation modeling using data collected from 271 health professionals (doctors, nurses, midwives and analysts) from Turkey.

Findings: The findings of the research illustrate that coronavirus-induced anxiety is positively associated with burnout and turnover intention.

As this distance increases and the fundus tension, there may be variability in retinal and choroidal thickness. Effectiveness of a home exercise program when added to a conventional physiotherapy program in patients with temporomandibular disorders: A comparative study.

Novel Tb³⁺-Doped LaAl₂B₄O₁₀ phosphors: Structural analysis, luminescent properties, and energy transfer mechanism.

This study explores the structural and luminescent properties of terbium (Tb³⁺)-doped lanthanum aluminium borate (LaAl₂B₄O₁₀, abbreviated as LAB) phosphors, a novel host lattice for Tb³⁺ doping. LAB:Tb³⁺ phosphors, with varying dopant concentrations, were synthesized using a microwave-assisted combustion synthesis approach and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement, and photoluminescence spectroscopy at both room and low temperatures. The structural analysis confirmed the hexagonal crystal structure of LAB and revealed successful incorporation of Tb³⁺ ions without altering the fundamental lattice.
