The present work aims to quantitatively and qualitatively monitor the production of lipopeptide mixtures by Bacillus methylotrophicus DCS1 strain in Landy medium and to investigate the antifungal activities of DCS1 strain and its produced lipopeptides. The in vitro activities were tested by the direct confrontation and agar well diffusion methods, while the in vivo study was carried out in order to test the efficiency of DCS1 bacterial suspension in the control of Fusarium wilt in tomato plants. Identification of lipopeptides by mass spectrometry (LC/MSD-TOF) showed that lipopeptide isoforms produced during the first 24 h and 48 h of fermentation are identical, belonging to bacillomycin D and fengycins A and B homologues with a difference in the yield of production.

In this study, the potentiality of front face fluorescence spectroscopy (FFFS) for the evaluation of the quality of biscuits manufactured with butylated hydroxytoluene and pomegranate peel extract during aging was investigated. By using the principal component analysis, vitamin A and tryptophan spectra allowed a clear discrimination between biscuit samples according to the nature of antioxidants, while fluorescent Maillard reaction products spectra showed clear differentiation between samples according to the storage time. Clear differentiation between biscuits according to the used antioxidants and storage time was achieved by using common components and specific weights analysis.

In the present work, we are assessing the geographical origin and cultivar-related changes on olive oil quality and composition in East Algeria. Fruits from the main local olive varieties (Sigoise and Chemlal) were harvested in autumn 2019 growing season from three different geographic areas: semiarid (Setif), arid (Batna), and Saharan (Eloued). Obtained results showed that Chemlal and Sigoise olive oils from Eloued area were the most enriched in tocopherols and phenolic contents, respectively.

First Report of Filamentous Phages Isolated from Tunisian Orchards to Control .

Newly discovered phages PEar1, PEar2, PEar4 and PEar6 were isolated from three different orchards in North Tunisia to study their potential as biocontrol agents. Illumina sequencing revealed that the PEar viruses carry a single-strand DNA genome between 6608 and 6801 nucleotides and belong to the Inoviridae, making them the first described filamentous phages of . Interestingly, phage-infected cells show a decreased swimming and swarming motility and a cocktail of the four phages can significantly reduce infection of in a pear bioassay, potentially making them suitable candidates for phage biocontrol.
