A 70-year-old man presented with the growth of an anterior mediastinal nodule on a follow-up computed tomography (CT) scan after undergoing lung cancer surgery. Positron emission tomography (PET)-CT performed at the time of lung cancer surgery did not recognize any accumulation, but PET-CT performed this time confirmed the accumulation of standardized uptake value( SUV) max 5.57.

Background: The accumulation of ascites is a major symptom of ovarian cancer. The volume of ascites is a pathophysiological indicator of the peritoneal environment, such as inflammation and fibrosis; however, the relationship between the volume of ascites and oncological outcomes remains unclear. We herein retrospectively examined the effects of the volume of ascites on the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer in a multi-institutional large cohort using the stratification of clinical characteristics and statistical adjustment methods.

Artificial intelligence for ultrasound scanning in regional anesthesia is a rapidly developing interdisciplinary field. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of computer-aided three-dimensional ultrasound (C-aided US) guidance for neuraxial anesthesia in adult patients. We searched all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of adult patients who required neuraxial anesthesia in the MEDLINE, CENTRAL, Embase, International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP), and ClinicalTrials.

Methods: We measured serum AMH levels in 528 healthy female students at two universities in Japan between 2014 and 2020.

Background: In bronchoplasty of wedge resections, it is necessary to transect the bronchus at a sharp angle and depth. As a result, anastomoses after wedge resections have the disadvantages of poor visibility and operability. Here, we report a case of right wedge-shaped sleeve bilobectomy that was successfully performed with continuous knotless suturing using robotic assistance.

Introduction: Most cases of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the tongue occur on the lateral surface; however, SCC of the dorsum is extremely rare.
Case Presentation: The authors describe the case of a 79-year-old man with SCC involving the midline of the dorsum of the tongue. The lesion was surgically resected.

Objective: There is no consensus on the optimal treatment for patients with locoregional recurrence of esophageal cancer after surgery. The objective of this study was to investigate the outcomes and prognostic factors associated with salvage radiotherapy in patients with locoregional recurrence of esophageal cancer after surgery.
Methods: We reviewed 80 patients with locoregional recurrence of esophageal cancer after surgery who were treated with radiotherapy.

Ultrasound-guided clavipectoral fascial plane block (CPB) and intermediate cervical plexus block (ICPB) have been used as novel approaches for clavicular fracture surgery in adults. However, there are few reports of ultrasound-guided CPB combined with ICPB for clavicular surgery in children under 18 years of age. A 16-year-old male baseball player (weight, 57 kg; height, 160 cm) was scheduled to undergo open reduction and internal fixation with superior plate placement for a left-sided displaced midshaft clavicular fracture.

Background: Nuclear protein in testis (NUT) carcinoma (NC) of the lung is a rare cancer that occurs mainly in young adolescents and adults. NC is genetically characterized by rearrangements, which usually take the form of fusions. The prognosis for NC is dismal, and treatment with conventional chemotherapeutic regimens is ineffective.

We especially aimed to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors for non-previa PAS in HRC-FET pregnancies.
Methods: Overall, 279 women who conceived through ART at three ART facilities and delivered at a single center were included in this retrospective study.

We compared survival outcomes of high-dose concomitant boost radiotherapy (HDCBRT) and conventional dose radiotherapy (CRT) for newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GB). Patients treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy for newly diagnosed GB were included. In HDCBRT, specific targets received 69, 60, and 51 Gy in 30 fractions, while 60 Gy in 30 fractions was administered with a standard radiotherapy method in CRT.

Background: Various factors contribute to the development of infection-related acute encephalopathy (AE) in children, such as infectious agents and chronic underlying disorders. We studied underlying disorders in children with AE to identify predisposing factors of AE.
Methods: We investigated underlying disorders or past histories in patients with two types of AE from the database in the Tokai area of Japan between 2009 and 2022: 204 patients with AE with reduced subcortical diffusion (AED) and 137 with clinically mild encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS).

In Japan, systemic chemotherapy is the standard treatment for unresectable, advanced, or recurrent gastric cancer. However, numerous patients with gastric cancer do not receive late-line treatment because of the rapid progression of gastric cancer. Additionally, late-line treatments, such as nivolumab, trifluridine tipiracil (FTD/TPI), or irinotecan, have limited effects on improving clinical symptoms and delaying the onset of symptoms associated with cancer progression.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of daily fraction doses on late genitourinary (GU) toxicity after salvage radiotherapy (SRT) for prostate cancer.
Methods: This multi-institutional retrospective study included 212 patients who underwent SRT between 2008 and 2018. All patients received image-guided intensity-modulated SRT at a median dose of 67.
