A 72-year-old male patient presented fatigue, anemia, elevated total protein, IgG, IgG4, IL-6, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels. Initial diagnostics suspected multiple myeloma. A plane computed tomography (CT) scan showed pneumonia and the enlargement of generalized lymph nodes.

This study retrospectively evaluated the computed tomography (CT) findings of idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) at a single center and compared the CT findings of iMCD-TAFRO with those of iMCD-non-TAFRO. CT images obtained within 30 days before diagnostic confirmation were reviewed for 20 patients with iMCD (8 men and 12 women, mean age 52.8 ± 12.

The relationship between D-AA metabolic enzymes and cancer development remains unclear. We aimed to investigate this relationship using mice deficient in D-AA-related metabolic enzymes. We examined mice lacking these enzymes for approximately 900 days and the effects of altered D-AA metabolism on cancer development based on lifespan, pathological findings, and gene expression.

The oral microbiota, second in abundance to the gut, is implicated in chronic systemic diseases, but its specific role in GVHD pathogenesis has been unclear. Our study finds that mucositis-induced oral dysbiosis in patients post-hematopoietic cell transplantation associated with increased chronic GVHD (cGVHD) even in patients receiving post-transplant cyclophosphamide. In murine HCT models, oral dysbiosis caused by bilateral molar ligatures exacerbated cGVHD and increased bacterial load in the oral cavity and gut with Enterococcaceae significantly increasing in both organs.

Introduction: Corynebacterium species potentially develop high-level daptomycin resistance (HLDR) shortly after daptomycin (DAP) administration. We aimed to investigate the clinical and microbiological characteristics of HLDR Corynebacterium infections.
Methods: We first presented a clinical case accompanied by the results of a comprehensive genetic analysis of the isolate, and then performed a systematic scoping review.

There are cases of idiopathic interstitial pneumonias (IIPs) that do not meet the diagnostic criteria for connective tissue disease but have clinical features suggestive of autoimmune process. Interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (IPAF) was recently proposed as a research concept for these patients. Although several prospective studies on IPAF have been conducted, its clinical significance in cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) remains unclear.

A woman in her 60s presented with erythema on both elbows, dyspnea on exertion, discomfort, and swelling of the left upper extremity, followed by swelling and myalgia of the right upper and lower extremities. She was diagnosed with anti-transcriptional intermediary factor 1-γ antibody-positive dermatomyositis with interstitial pneumonia. The initial screening tests for malignant diseases including contrast-enhanced computed tomography, upper and lower endoscopy, and gynecological examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Introduction: Erythema nodosum (EN) is the most common form of panniculitis. EN can be idiopathic or secondary to an underlying systemic disease, infection, drug use, or tumor. CD5-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (CD5+ DLBCL) is a relapsed and refractory lymphoma, and further understanding of its pathology is required.

In the new WHO classifications of haematolymphoid tumours (WHO-HAEM5), classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is categorized into B-cell lymphoid proliferations and lymphomas. Although the majority of Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells are of germinal center B-cell origin with some defects of B-cell transcription factors, they rarely express T-cell antigens or cytotoxic molecules. Clonality analyses on cHL samples using BIOMED-2 have been reported by several groups; however, those studies were only focused on Ig regions, including IgH, Ig-kappa, and Ig-lambda, and TCR-γ clonality analysis of cHL has not yet been explored.

Duodenal type follicular lymphoma (DFL), a rare entity of follicular lymphoma (FL), is clinically indolent and is characterized by a low histological grade compared with nodal follicular lymphoma (NFL). Our previous reports revealed that DFL shares characteristics of both NFL and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma in terms of clinical and biological aspects, suggesting its pathogenesis may involve antigenic stimulation. In contrast to NFL, the genomic methylation status of DFL is still challenging.

The determination of precise exercise intensity is essential for effective exercise rehabilitation. The Borg rating of perceived exertion category ratio (CR) scale is utilized to prescribe an appropriate level of exertion intensity. A Borg CR of approximately 13 coincides with the ventilatory aerobic threshold (VAT).

The lungs are very complex organs, and the respiratory system performs the dual roles of repairing tissue while protecting against infection from various environmental stimuli. Persistent external irritation disrupts the immune responses of tissues and cells in the respiratory system, ultimately leading to respiratory disease. Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino-acid polypeptide and a neurotransmitter that regulates homeostasis.

A subset of patients with rheumatoid arthritis receiving methotrexate develop immune deficiencies and dysregulation-associated lymphoproliferative disorders. Patients with these disorders often exhibit spontaneous regression after MTX withdrawal; however, chemotherapeutic intervention is frequently required in patients with classic Hodgkin lymphoma arising in immune deficiency/dysregulation. In this study, we examined PD-L1 expression levels and 9p24.

Aim: Continuous intravenous propofol sedation with adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) with or without an analgesic, pentazocine, during AF ablation was studied in 272 consecutive patients with paroxysmal, persistent, and long-standing persistent AF. The study objectives were to determine the incidence of PONV after AF ablation and to assess the predictive value of factors for PONV using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC).

Nodal T-follicular helper cell lymphoma (TFHL) is a subset of T-cell lymphoma and frequently co-occurs with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive B-cell lymphoma but not with T/NK-cell lymphoma. Recently, a new entity with a worse prognosis, called EBV-positive nodal T/NK-cell lymphoma (NTNKL) has been established. Here, we report an autopsy case of synchronous multiple lymphomas, including TFHL and NTNKL.
