Non-bacterial thrombotic endocarditis (NBTE) causes myocardial and cerebral infarctions and is associated with advanced stages of malignancy. However, only a few cases of myocardial and cerebral infarctions have been reported in the same patient. We herein report a 47-year-old woman with advanced uterine and ovarian cancer who experienced acute myocardial infarction (MI) after receiving chemotherapeutic intervention for the cancer and hemorrhagic cerebral infarction 1 month after admission for acute MI, attributable to NBTE of the aortic valve.

Background and objective There is scarce data on the treatment outcomes of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-ALL/LBL) in elderly patients in the era of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), blinatumomab, and inotuzumab ozogamicin. In light of this, we aimed to address this gap in data by conducting this retrospective study. Methods Treatment outcomes were retrospectively evaluated by using data from transplant-ineligible patients aged 65 years or older with newly diagnosed B-ALL/LBL (n=29) at two hospitals in Oita, Japan between 2013 and 2023.

Endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix is rare and difficult to distinguish from endometrial adenocarcinoma, particularly in large bulky cases. Herein, we report a rare case of a large endometrioid adenocarcinoma in a 58-year-old Japanese woman in which the tumor origin was difficult to identify. The patient presented with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding and was referred to a gynecologist for suspected uterine cancer based on an evaluation performed at another institution.

Background: ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor discontinuation securely became among the therapeutic goal for chronic myeloid leukemia chronic phase patients (CML-CP). To establish successful prognostic factors for treatment-free remission (TFR), it is necessary to diagnose the patients with high-risk molecular relapse, however, a biomarker for the achievement of TFR has not been completely elucidated. Recent investigations have determined that neutrophils function crucially in cancer immunology.
