To determine the impact of the holistic redesign of top 200 medications learning activities within a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum by comparing student performances on a comprehensive examination before and after the redesign. During a curricular revision at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy that began with the class of 2020, learning activities involving the top 200 medications were implemented that involved repeated retrieval and mastery concepts, alignment with therapeutic coursework, and autonomous learning regarding the top 200 medications. A high-stakes comprehensive top 200 medications examination was administered to students at the end of their third professional year both before and after implementation of these activities.

Background: Private practice dentists represent 72% of United States dentists. We conducted a prospective cohort study of private practice dentists comparing antibiotic use before and after dental antibiotic stewardship education by infectious diseases (ID) antibiotic stewardship experts.

Methods: Study phases were as follows: phase 1 (preeducation), 3 months of retrospective antibiotic data and a presurvey assessed baseline antibiotic knowledge; phase 2 (education), dentists attended 3 evening Zoom sessions; phase 3, (posteducation/interventions), 3 months of prospective audits with weekly feedback; phase 4, postsurvey and recommendations to reach more dentists.

The involvement of membrane-bound solute carriers (SLCs) in neoplastic transdifferentiation processes is poorly defined. Here, we examined changes in the SLC landscape during epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of pancreatic cancer cells. We show that two SLCs from the organic anion/cation transporter family, SLC22A10 and SLC22A15, favor EMT via interferon (IFN) α and γ signaling activation of receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1 (ROR1) expression.

Over the past few years, nanotechnology-based approaches have emerged to override drug resistance owing to their superiority over other formulations because of their diverse therapeutic advantages such as target-specific drug delivery, enhanced bioavailability, biodegradability, and minimal off-target effects. Hybrid nanomaterials as a formulation of anticancer drugs with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have adequately proven efficacious in controlled release as well as disintegration into ultrasmall nanoparticles dragging the drug to penetrate deep into tumor tissues and consequently getting cleared from the body. In this study, to achieve better antitumor responses, we engineered self-assembled organic nanoparticles of potent anticancer compound BZ6 (BZ6-ONPs), BZ6-gold nanoparticle conjugates (BZ6-AuNPs), and organic-inorganic nanohybrids involving amalgamation of AuNPs with BZ6-ONPs (AuNPs@BZ6-ONPs) and comparatively analyzed their physicochemical as well as biological activities.

The neurofibromatosis syndromes, including NF1, NF2, and schwannomatosis, are tumor suppressor syndromes characterized by multiple nervous system tumors, particularly Schwann cell neoplasms. NF-related tumors are mainly treated by surgery, and some of them have been treated by but are refractory to conventional chemotherapy. Purpose: Despite international guidelines' recommendations, spirometry is underutilized in the diagnosis and management of asthma and COPD. Spirometry may be an opportunity for trained pharmacists to meet the needs of patients with suspected or diagnosed lung conditions. The aim of this scoping review is to describe the literature including pharmacist provided spirometry services, specifically to identify: 1) the models of pharmacist provided spirometry services, and additional services commonly offered alongside spirometry, 2) pharmacist training and capability to obtain quality results, and (3) pharmacist, physician, and patient perspectives.
