A major concern of patients with ischaemic heart disease is whether sexual activity is safe. In addition, patients are often reluctant to discuss sexual problems, including erectile dysfunction. Fear of sexual failure or fear of an acute ischaemic cardiac event as a result of sexual activity may create anxiety and lead to avoidance of sexual activity, which can significantly affect quality of life.

We report a case of Takayasu's arteritis as a cause of fever of unknown origin in a woman from Somalia. The study presents our experience with video-assisted thoracoscopy and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) at the Dept. of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Odense University Hospital. All VATS-procedures performed in the period 1/1 1993-30/9 1994 were prospectively registered.
