In this study, belonging to the truncatelloid family Stenothyridae is redescribed using morphological characters from the shell, operculum, and radula. The species is distinguished from other species in the group by its shell without spotted spiral lines and by its dome-shaped, mostly smooth, protoconch with some pits. Together with the morphological description, the complete mitogenome for the species is provided, which fill a knowledge gap in Stenothyridae.

The introduction of surfactants during the fabrication of hydrodesulfurization catalysts could not only tune the microstructure but also promote the dispersion of active components. In this work, CoMo bulk catalysts with the hierarchical structure of three-dimensionally ordered macro-mesopores were successfully fabricated by using a colloidal crystal template with the addition of PEG 400 and/or F127 surfactants. The obtained samples were characterized by various techniques, and the possible mechanism of the structure formation was also discussed.

Complexes 1-4 were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. Interestingly, the coordination patterns and 3D network structures of complexes 1-3 are very similar, while complex 4 is relatively unique.

We synthesised a silicon dioxide nanosphere with a novel nanostructure by loading salicylic acid (SA) as a plant disease resistance inductor to prolong plant life. The SA nanosphere was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, N adsorption method, enzyme activity test and pot experiments. The results demonstrated that the SA nanosphere induced the activities of polyphenol oxidase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, peroxidase, and chitinase to enhance plant immunity to inhibit .

The Thunnini, or tuna, comprise many species with very different commercial values. The principal raw tuna product on the market is sashimi, for which the species used is difficult to identify through conventional morphological analysis. The present study amplified the cytochrome gene () of 4 major tuna species used for preparing sashimi-yellowfin tuna (), southern bluefin tuna (), bigeye tuna (), and Atlantic bluefin tuna ()-and 4 species commonly mislabeled as components of tuna sashimi-albacore tuna (), skipjack tuna (), striped marlin (), and swordfish ().

However, the skin's barrier properties prevent insulin-loaded NP permeation at useful levels. Nowadays, microneedles have been spotlighted as novel transdermal delivery systems due to their advantages such as painlessness, efficient penetration and no hazardous residues.

In addition, this method may reduce the risk of recontamination after cooking and during storage. The purpose of this paper was to study the effects of four cooking methods (steaming, microwaving, baking, and frying) on the sensory and digestibility on sturgeon steak pretreated by sous vide during the cold storage (0-25 days).

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) pose serious health risks to humans as the adsorption between AgNPs and humic acid (HA) makes it difficult to remove them from surface water. To solve this problem, polysaccharides extracted from a marine alga, (denoted as Ep), were used to eliminate the AgNP-HA composite contaminant a coagulation-ultrafiltration (C-UF) process. The structure of Ep, AgNP-HA removal mechanism and membrane fouling were analyzed.

A series of novel two-dimensional materials inspired from a 4D polytope, tesseract, have been proposed by density functional theory (DFT) based computations. Both CX and CX (X = O, S and Se) are found to have great thermodynamic and dynamic stabilities, and CX exhibited excellent thermal stability up to 1000 K. All these 2D crystals are semiconductors with 2.

TRPV1 is a ligand-gated ion channel and plays an important role in detecting noxious heat and pain with an unknown mechanism. RhTx from Chinese red-headed centipede activates the TRPV1 channel through the heat activation pathway by binding to the outer pore region, and causes extreme pain. Here, we synthesized RhTx and its retro-isomer RL-RhTx.

Developing active multifunctional electrocatalysts composed of earth-abundant and cheap elements is an urgent demand in energy conversion applications. This study presents a facile approach for the scalable synthesis of nanostructured cobalt phosphide embedded in carbon nanosheets (CoP NPs/CNSs). The hybrid structures show highly efficient trifunctional electrocatalytic activities toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) under alkaline condition.

The synthesized imidazoline phosphate quaternary ammonium salt has low stability, which is spontaneously and rapidly hydrolyzed to the long-chain fatty acid amide (LFA). The hydrolysate (LFA) has been found to be an efficient inhibitor for Q235 steel against CO corrosion, which yields a maximum value above 90% at a concentration of 1000 mg L. The LFA inhibitor acts as an anodic type inhibitor and its inhibition mechanism is a "negative catalysis effect".

In this study, a granular red mud supported zero-valent iron (ZVI@GRM) was successfully prepared and was used to remove Pb(ii) and Cr(vi) from aqueous solution. Zero-valent iron (ZVI) was synthesized by direct reduction of iron oxide in red mud by maize straw as a reductant at 900 °C in an anoxic atmosphere. The technical characterization (SEM, EDS, XRD, FTIR and BET) revealed that ZVI@GRM was loaded with zero-valent iron and contained different size pores.

Nowadays, designing heteroatom-doped porous carbons from inexpensive biomass raw materials is a very attractive topic. Herein, we propose a simple approach to prepare heteroatom-doped porous carbons by using nettle leaves as the precursor and KOH as the activating agent. The nettle leaf derived porous carbons possess high specific surface area (up to 1951 m g), large total pore volume (up to 1.

Graphene oxide (GO), as an emerging material, exhibits extraordinary performance in terms of water treatment. Adsorption is a process that is influenced by multiple factors and is difficult to simulate by traditional statistical models. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) can establish highly accurate nonlinear functional relationships between multiple variables; hence, we constructed a three-layered ANN model to predict the removal performance of Cu(ii) metal ions by the prepared GO.

In our study, after a 14-day acclimation period, 50 female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to five groups, each of which was fed a different diet, for 28 days. We then evaluated the effect of krill protein complex (KPC), krill powder, and defatted krill powder on the nitrogen balance, growth, and antioxidant activity through analyses of MDA, CAT, GSH-Px, and T-SOD.

Chinese herbal medicines( CHMs) are a class of preparations made from natural plants that pose health beneficial properties as well as illness prevention functions. Thanks to a panel of salutary features, such as comprehensive immunological enhancement and inhibition of pathogenic bacteria, negligible side-effects,inappreciable drug-resistance,CHMs have been taken as one of the costeffective candidates for antibiotics substitutions. Through probiotics fermentation, the enzymatic hydrolysis of matrixes of CHMs enables easier release of the active ingredient as well as endows less toxicity of the preparations derived.
