We herein present a strain-release glycosylation method employing a rationally designed -2,2-dimethoxycarbonylcyclopropylbenzyl (CCPB) thioglycoside donor. The donor is activated through the nucleophilic ring-opening of a remotely activable donor-acceptor cyclopropane (DAC) catalyzed by mild Sc(OTf). Our new glycosylation method efficiently synthesizes -, -, and -glycosides, providing facile chemical access to the challenging -glycosides.

Phytochemical investigation into the medium polar fraction of the ethanol extract of Euphorbia peplus led to the identification of 32 diterpenoids with five structural types. Compounds 1-5 and 7-11 are reported for the first time, while the configuration of 6,7-epoxy group of 6 was revised to be β-oriented. Compounds 1-5 feature a rare structural variation of the double bond at Δ migrating to Δ in the tigliane-type diterpenoid family.

The dwarf surf clam, , is considered as a model species for bivalves because of its rapid growth and short generation time. Recently, successful breeding of this species for multiple generations in our laboratory revealed its acquisition of adaptive advantages during artificial breeding. In this study, 310 individuals from five different generations were genotyped with 22,196 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with the aim of uncovering the genetic basis of their adaptation to laboratory conditions.

Nitrate contamination in water sources poses a substantial environmental and health risk. However, accurate detection of nitrate in water, particularly in the presence of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) interference, remains a significant analytical challenge. This study investigates a novel approach for the reliable detection of nitrate in water samples with varying levels of DOC interference based on the equivalent concentration offset method.

This paper presents the challenges faced by a patient undergoing limb-sparing treatment due to chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) complicated with long-standing nonhealing foot ulcer and intense pain. However, after multiple vascular surgeries, the foot wound continued to worsen, which could lead to transfemoral amputation and even death. We report a case of an aged male patient admitted after complaining of "pain and ulceration in his left foot for ten months".

The spotted sea bass () has a broad latitudinal distribution range along the marginal seas of the Northwest Pacific and thus provides an excellent teleost model for population genetic and climate adaptation studies. We generated over 8.

The oil spreading technique relies on biosurfactant to reduce the surface tension of an oil film and form an oil spreading ring in the center, and then judges the content of biosurfactant according to the diameter of the spreading ring. However, the instability and large errors of the traditional oil spreading technique limit its further application. In this paper, we modified the traditional oil spreading technique by optimizing the oily material, image acquisition and calculation method, which improves the accuracy and stability of the quantification of biosurfactant.

Macrobenthic invertebrates are ubiquitously distributed in the epipelagic zone of the open ocean. Yet, our understanding of their genetic structure patterns remains poorly understood. Investigating the genetic differentiation patterns of pelagic and clarifying the potential roles of temperature maintaining this pattern are crucial for our understanding of the distribution and biodiversity of pelagic macrobenthos.

In this study, dry-cured Spanish mackerel (, DCSM) was prepared via three different methods (hot-air drying, cold-air drying, and sun drying). The content of 4-hydroxy-2-hexenal (HHE) and 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (HNE) derived from lipid oxidation in whole processes was investigated by HPLC-MS/MS. The changes in fatty acid composition were detected by GC-MS, and the degree of lipid oxidation was evaluated by the levels of acid values (AV), peroxide values (POV), and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS).

Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) exhibits interdecadal to multidecadal variability, yet the role of surface freshwater flux (FWF) variability in this AMOC variability remains unclear. This study isolates the contribution of FWF variability in modulating AMOC through a partially coupled experiment, in which the effect of the interactive FWF is disabled. It is demonstrated that the impact of the coupled FWF variability enhances the persistence of density and deep convection anomalies in the Labrador Sea (LS), thus lengthening the period of the AMOC oscillation on multidecadal timescale and suppressing its ∼30-year periodicity.
