Doppler ultrasound of umbilical and fetal vessels is useful for monitoring fetal well-being, fetal anemia, intrauterine growth retardation, and other perinatal outcomes. The adverse perinatal outcome and circulatory changes can be reflected in fetal Doppler studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of increased pressure exerted on the maternal abdominal wall during routine ultrasound on the middle cerebral artery (MCA), resistance index (RI), pulsatility index (PI), and peak systolic velocity (PSV).

Although the underlying mechanism of stress remains unknown, it has been associated with the pathophysiology of gastroesophageal reflux diseases, the development of which appear to be accelerated by oxidative stress and fibrosis. The aim of the current study was to investigate the effect of chronic restraint stress on esophageal oxidative stress and fibrosis, as well as the impact of oxidative stress in a murine model whereby 8-week old C57BL/6J male mice were subjected to intermittent chronic restraint stress for a two-week period. The current study demonstrated that chronic restraint stress significantly reduced the body weight of mice compared with the control group.

Semen hyperviscosity impairs sperm motility and can lead to male infertility. This prospective study aimed at assessing the ability of exogenous DNase in improving sperm quality, taking into consideration that DNase has been found in the seminal plasma of several species and that neutrophils release chromatin in order to trap bacteria. A total of seventy-seven semen samples with high seminal viscosity (HSV) as the study group and sixty-two semen samples with normal seminal viscosity (NSV) as the control group were compared in this analysis.

Rationale: Most leiomyomas are located in the uterus. Leiomyomas are rarely found outside the uterus and classified as leiomyoma beyond the uterus (LBU). This group consists of disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis, benign metastasizing leiomyoma, intravenous leiomyomatosis, parasite leiomyoma located in the broad ligament and retroperitoneal space.

Background: Thiols are organic compounds consisting of a sulfhydryl group which exerts antioxidant effects via dynamic thiol-disulfide homeostasis (TDH). The shift towards the disulfide states signals an oxidative situation. Maternal-neonatal oxidative stress can be affected by the anesthetic technique used during cesarean section.

Interstitial ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a life-threatening condition due to the risk of massive hemorrhage in the event of its disturbance. We present the case of a 27-year-old patient who was admitted with massive hemoperitoneum, caused by the rupture of an interstitial pregnancy in the area of the fallopian tube stump, which had been removed after a previous ectopic pregnancy. The condition was overcome using a mini-laparoscopic approach (2.

Stress is a pivotal factor for inflammation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and formation of visceral hypersensitivity (VH) in the process of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In the present study, the effects of stress on esophageal inflammation, oxidative stress and VH were investigated in a chronic restraint stress mouse model. C57BL/6J male mice were subjected to 2 weeks of intermittent restraint stress, and histopathological analysis revealed that stress induced esophageal inflammation and fibrosis, while no distinct changes were detected in non‑stressed control mice.

Problem: Preeclampsia has a multifactorial origin with genetic, immunological, and environmental factors described as main contributors to its onset. This study aimed to investigate glutathione-S-transferase M1 (GSTM1) and glutathione-S-transferase T1 (GSTT1) gene polymorphisms, the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6), and the potential relationship between GST polymorphisms and cytokine expression levels in preeclampsia and uncomplicated pregnancy.
Method Of Study: This prospective case-control study included 50 women with preeclampsia and 50 healthy pregnant women.

Objectives: To evaluate the intra- and inter-rater agreement for myometrial lesions using Morphologic Uterus Sonographic Assessment terminology.
Methods: Thirteen raters with high (n = 6) or medium experience (n = 7) assessed 30 3-dimensional ultrasound clips with (n = 20) and without (n = 10) benign myometrial lesions. Myometrial lesions were reported as poorly or well defined and then systematically evaluated for the presence of individual features.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which a woman's levels of the sex hormones (estrogen and progesterone) are out of balance, leading to the growth of ovarian cysts. PCOS can affect the menstrual cycle, fertility, cardiac function and even appearance of women. Therefore, we aimed to explore the genetic polymorphism of the melatonin receptors 1A and 1B in obese patients with PCOS to identify a new theoretical basis for its treatment.

Background And Objectives: Laparoscopic surgical excision of bladder nodules has been demonstrated to be effective in relieving associated painful symptoms; the data are lacking concerning the impact of anterior compartment endometriosis on infertility. We conducted this study to evaluate whether or not the surgical excision of deep endometriosis affecting the anterior compartment plays a role in restoring fertility.
Methods: This multicentre, retrospective study included a group of 55 patients presenting with otherwise-unexplained infertility who had undergone laparoscopic excision of anterior compartment endometriosis with histological confirmation.

Complex and modern obstetric medical care provides a constant improvement for the pregnancy prognosis. Thus, young women with an undiagnosed pathology become pregnant and, during pregnancy, the previously undiagnosed pathology, without any clinical signs and symptoms, becomes present during pregnancy, having an unfavorable impact on the fetus and the health state of the pregnant woman. The gestational syndromes during pregnancy influence the woman's health state over a long period of time and the quality of the conception product.
