Objectives: Loneliness and social isolation are associated with a range of deleterious health outcomes. Yoga is a mind-body physical activity that is used in health care settings and increasingly in a telehealth group format. This trial aimed to determine the effect of a brief course of telehealth yoga on loneliness among rural older adults.

Design, Setting, Participants And Measurements: Our study population consisted of Medicaid enrollees across the US state of Oregon who had at least one live hospital birth between 2012 and 2020 and one diagnosis of OUD prenatally (n = 4363).

Context: Over 40% of pregnancies in the United States are unintended. Women with unintended pregnancies may be less likely to receive timely prenatal care and engage in healthy behaviors immediately before and during pregnancy. Limited research suggests that women with disabilities are more likely to have an unintended pregnancy, but to date no studies have assessed whether intendedness varies by extent of disability.

Mercury, a potent toxin that poses serious risks to human health, particularly for pregnant women and young children, is widely present due to artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM), which impacts water quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate methylmercury exposure among pregnant women in communities downstream from ASGM sites. We characterized hair total mercury (THg) concentrations among 148 pregnant women across 24 communities in the Tumbes region of Peru, downstream from ASGM sites in Ecuador.

Introduction: Military Service Members, Veterans, and other patient populations who experience traumatic brain injury (TBI) may have increased risk of early neurodegenerative diseases relative to those without TBI history. Some evidence suggests that exposure to psychotropic medications may play a role in this association. The Long-term Impact of Military-relevant Brain Injury Consortium-Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (LIMBIC-CENC) prospective longitudinal study provides an ideal setting to examine the effects of psychotropic medication exposure on long-term neurological health of those with and without mild TBI history.

Neoadjuvant immunotherapy leads to complete pathologic response in locally advanced colon cancer.

Immunotherapy is considered first line in patients with dMMR metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC). Recent studies have also shown promising results with neoadjuvant immunotherapy in locally advanced CRC. We report a case in which neoadjuvant immunotherapy with pembrolizumab resulted in complete pathologic response at time of resection as well as saved the patient the morbidity associated with a hepatectomy.

Surgical approaches to congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

Surgical repair of the diaphragm is essential for survival in congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). There are many considerations surrounding the operation - why the operation matters, optimal timing of repair and its relation to extracorporeal life support (ECLS) use, minimally invasive versus open approaches, and strategies for reconstruction. Surgery is both affected by, and affects, the physiology of these infants and is an important factor in determining long-term outcomes.

The reference B158/B60 monoclonal antibody (mAb)-based Ag-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has acceptable levels of sensitivity and specificity in human neurocysticercosis with multiple brain cysts, although its sensitivity is lower in cases with single brain cysts, whereas in porcine cysticercosis the assay specificity is affected by its frequent cross-reaction with Taenia hydatigena, another common cestode found in pigs. Our group has produced 21 anti-T.

Telemedicine care coordination and visit frequency in pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes in Oregon.

Introduction: Children with type 1 diabetes require close monitoring with visits every 3-4 months. COVID-19-induced telemedicine expansion may alleviate the challenge of high visit frequency that children with type 1 diabetes face. However, telemedicine's impact on access to care may be limited if patients lack adequate support for telemedicine.

Design: This quasi-experimental study included pre/postintervention point-prevalence surveys in July 2019 and June 2020, respectively. The retrospective cohort included HCT/HM patients with BSI between 2012 and 2022.
