Large language models (LLMs) are rapidly being adopted in healthcare, necessitating standardized reporting guidelines. We present transparent reporting of a multivariable model for individual prognosis or diagnosis (TRIPOD)-LLM, an extension of the TRIPOD + artificial intelligence statement, addressing the unique challenges of LLMs in biomedical applications. TRIPOD-LLM provides a comprehensive checklist of 19 main items and 50 subitems, covering key aspects from title to discussion.

The sequence-structure-function relationship of intrinsic ERα disorder.

The oestrogen receptor (ER or ERα), a nuclear hormone receptor that drives most breast cancer, is commonly activated by phosphorylation at serine 118 within its intrinsically disordered N-terminal transactivation domain. Although this modification enables oestrogen-independent ER function, its mechanism has remained unclear despite ongoing clinical trials of kinase inhibitors targeting this region. By integration of small-angle X-ray scattering and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with functional studies, we show that serine 118 phosphorylation triggers an unexpected expansion of the disordered domain and disrupts specific hydrophobic clustering between two aromatic-rich regions.

Oral antibiotic treatment is well known to be one of the main factors affecting gut microbiota composition by altering bacterial diversity. It decreases the abundance of butyrate-producing bacteria such as Lachnospiraceae and Ruminococcaceae, while increasing abundance of Enterobacteriaceae. Purpose: This study aims to address the challenging estimation of trajectories from freehand ultrasound examinations by means of registration of automatically generated surface points. Current approaches to inter-sweep point cloud registration can be improved by incorporating heatmap predictions, but practical challenges such as label-sparsity or only partially overlapping coverage of target structures arise when applying realistic examination conditions.

The scope of this work was to develop a thin-film composite (TFC) membrane for the separation of CO/CO mixtures, which are relevant for many processes of gas processing and gasification of carbon-based feedstock. Special attention was given to the development of highly permeable porous polysulfone (PSF) supports (more than 26,000 GPU for CO) since both the selective and support layers contribute significantly to the overall performance of the TFC membrane. The PSF porous support is widely used in commercial and lab-scale TFC membranes, and its porous structure and other exploitation parameters are set during the non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) process.

We present an image that illustrates long-term visual field progression in patients with X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP) due to the retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator (RPGR) and retinitis pigmentosa 2 protein (RP2) gene variants. Longitudinal data from 84 genetically confirmed XLRP patients were collected from the Danish Retinitis Pigmentosa Registry, spanning the years 1948 to 2014. A visual field summation image revealed the characteristic pattern of retinal degeneration and visual field preservation in XLRP.
