Objective: To analyze the impact of acute pancreatitis on mortality and hospital outcomes among the pediatric population following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

Study Design: We analyzed nationally representative, nonoverlapping years of the National Inpatient Sample and Kids Inpatient Database between 2003 and 2016, including all pediatric patients who had HSCT. Patients were divided into those with and without a diagnosis of acute pancreatitis and compared for demographics, clinical characteristics, comorbid conditions related to both HSCT and acute pancreatitis, and outcome measures such as in-hospital mortality and health care resource use (length of hospital stay and total hospitalization charges).
