Background: Persistent pain is the most reported symptom in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA); however, effective and brief assessment tools are lacking. We validated the Chinese version of the Global Pain Scale (C-GPS) in Chinese patients with RA and proposed a short version of the C-GPS (s-C-GPS).

Method: The study was conducted using a face-to-face questionnaire survey with a multicenter cross-sectional design from March to December 2019.

Introduction: Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) are a type of deep venipuncture, for which the catheter tip malposition rate is high.

Aim: To examine the feasibility of preventing catheter tip malposition during PICC placement using an ultrasound-guided finger-pressure method to block the internal jugular vein.

Material And Methods: We conducted a double-blinded randomized controlled trial (RCT) at a tertiary public hospital in Hubei province, China.

The aim of this study was to examine how body image, Disease Activity Score in 28 joints, the feeling of being anxious, depression, fatigue, quality of sleep, and pain influence the quality of life (QoL) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A multicenter cross-sectional survey with convenience sampling was conducted from March 2019 and December 2019, 603 patients with RA from five hospitals were evaluated using the Body Image Disturbance Questionnaire, Disease Activity Score in 28 joints, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Fatigue Severity Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Short Form 36 Health Survey, and Global Pain Scale. The relationship between quality of life and other variables was evaluated by using the structural equation model (SEM).

The aim of this study was to identify the impact of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) on specific sleep quality domains and to determine its prevalence. A systematic literature search was performed on PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase until January 2018 to obtain eligible studies. Score of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used as the outcome measurement, and weight mean differences (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated.

This study aimed to assess the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy on the psychological and physiological health of rheumatoid arthritis patients. An extensive literature search was conducted, using the PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, CNKI Scholar, WanFang, and VIP databases, from inception to December2018. The quality of the studies was evaluated by 2 independent authors, according to the basic criteria provided by the Cochrane Handbook for evaluating randomized trials.

Symptoms are often one of the main reasons for patients with chronic diseases to seek medical care. However, the symptoms experienced by patients with primary varicose veins are not serious until late in the course, hence rarely drawing enough attention. A deep understanding of disease awareness and experiences of patients is particularly important in disease management.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the biological changes after incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) induction by pancreatin in the guinea pigs and to explore the potentially appropriate timing and pancreatin concentration for IAD induction with different severity.

Design: In vivo, experimental study.

Subjects And Setting: An experimental animal model (guinea pig) in a controlled laboratory setting was used for investigation.

Aims: To determine the effects of low-flow oxygen therapy with humidified or non-humidified oxygen in adult patients.

Background: Although non-humidified oxygen in low-flow oxygen therapy is recommended by many guidelines, humidifying oxygen regardless of oxygen flow has been routinely performed in China and Japan and further studies are needed to evaluate the evidence.

Design: A systematic review and meta-analysis that comply with the recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration were conducted.

Background: Gum chewing has been reported to enhance the intestinal function recovery after caesarean section, current perspectives and practice guidelines vary widely on the use of gum chewing, more studies on the role of gum chewing after caesarean section are needed.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive, systematic meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy of gum chewing after caesarean section. Studies were identified by searching EMBASE et al database (until June 30, 2016).

Background: Saline fluid nebulization is highly recommend to combat the complications following tracheostomy, yet the understandings on the role of osmolality in saline solution for nebulization remain unclear.

Objectives: To investigate the biological changes in the early stage after tracheostomy, to verify the efficacy of saline fluid nebulization and explore the potential role of osmolality of saline nebulization after tracheostomy.

Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats undergone tracheostomy were taken for study model, the sputum viscosity was detected by rotational viscometer, the expressions of TNF-α, AQP4 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were assessed by western blot analysis, and the histological changes in endothelium were evaluated by HE staining and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
