Introduction: Sarcopenia is a chronic pathological condition, first defined in 2010 and revised in 2018. The most recent definition of sarcopenia focuses mostly on "low muscle strength." A secondary form of sarcopenia is represented by uremic sarcopenia (US), a condition that characterizes end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients.

Since the early1990s, laparoscopic right colon resections have been the most performed advanced laparoscopic procedures just after laparoscopic left colectomies and sigmoid resections. Indications for laparoscopic right colectomies are either benign or malignant diseases. Despite its many indications, a laparoscopic right or extended right colectomy is mostly performed for cancer of the caecum, the ascending colon, the hepatic flexure or the proximal transverse colon.

Introduction: Bile duct injuries avoidance is a key goal of biliary surgery. In this prospective study we evaluate the safety and feasibility of ICG fluorescent cholangiography during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) focusing on the optimization of timing and dose administration.
Material And Methods: From February to December 2022 fifty-four LC were performed with fluorescence imaging in our surgical department.

Introduction: Indocyanine green fluorescence angiography (ICG-FA) is commonly used in general surgery, but its use in bariatric surgery is still marginal. Moreover, post-operative leaks remain a dramatic complication after this surgery and the leak tests available have poor performance preventing them. The aim of the present paper is to assess the use and utility of a new innovative technology based on quantitative measures of fluorescence signal intensity.

Male obesity secondary hypogonadism (MOSH) impairs fertility, sexual function, bone mineralization, fat metabolism, cognitive function, deteriorates muscle mass and alters body composition. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the effect of dietary intervention and physical activity on the MOSH patient's hormonal profile after a 10% weight loss compared to baseline. Fourteen male patients were enrolled.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is becoming increasingly widespread in the world. Slowing its progression means to prevent uremic complications and improve quality of life of patients. Currently, a low-protein diet (LPD) is one of the tools most used in renal conservative therapy but a possible risk connected to LPD is protein-energy wasting.

Background And Aim: p53 activity plays a role in muscle homeostasis and skeletal muscle differentiation; all pathways that lead to sarcopenia are related to p53 activities. We investigate the allelic frequency of the TP53 codon 72 in exon 4 polymorphism in the Italian female population and the association with appendicular skeletal muscle mass index in normal weight (NW), normal weight obese (NWO), and preobese-obese (Preob-Ob) subjects.
Methods: We evaluated anthropometry, body composition, and p53 polymorphism in 140 women distinguished in NW, NWO, and Preob-Ob.
