In none of the studies has the role of surgery in the management of acute and severe ulcerative colitis been considered in any detail. A freedom of information (FOI) request was sent to 14 NHS Trusts in England, which serve significant South Asian populations.

v , which was decided recently by the Supreme Court, will have a profound effect on day-to-day clinical practice and future clinical negligence cases. It has clarified the scope of duty of care and to a significant extent links it to the questions being asked by patients of their doctors and by doctors of their colleagues. Will courts now consider that when a patient consults a doctor, he or she is seeking an answer to a specific question or a more general question hidden within that specific question? Clearly the onus will be on clinicians to define exactly what is wanted by the patient or by a colleague.

Objective: Post-void residual (PVR) scans of less than 200 ml are increasingly being used to rule out the likelihood of cauda equina syndrome (CES) and to delay emergency MRI scanning in suspected cases. This study was done to review a series of 50 MRI confirmed cases of CES and to test the hypothesis that a PVR of less than 200 ml was unlikely to be present.

Despite the many benefits of regular, sustained exercise, there is evidence that exercise can become addictive, to the point where the exerciser experiences negative physiological and psychological symptoms, including withdrawal symptoms upon cessation, training through injury, and the detriment of social relationships. Furthermore, recent evidence suggests that the etiology of exercise addiction is different depending on the presence or absence of eating disorders. The aim of this study was to explore to what extent eating disorder status, body dysmorphic disorder, reasons for exercise, social media use, and fitness instructor status were associated with exercise addiction, and to determine differences according to eating disorder status.
