We analyzed the occurrence of polyhydramnios during pregnancy and to indicate the association with congenital abnormalities of the product and maternal alterations. A retrospective descriptive and transversal study was performed which included 6087 pregnant patients who were submitted to ultrasonographic studies from January 1, 1991 to December 31, 1993. The final sample consisted of 72 patients with criteria of polyhydramnios and who had a complete, clinical history, specific data concerning the reproductive history and maternal risk factors associated with polyhydramnios and fetal malformations was compiled.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to determine the prevalence of polydactyly, its clinical characteristic and its association with some risk factors.
Material And Methods: A retrospective, case-control study, of 45 newborn with polydactyly and their controls, in 26,670 consecutive births in the Nuevo Hospital Civil de Guadalajara, with 20 weeks or more of gestational age, and birth weight greater than 500 g, since November of 1988 to October of 1992. The information were obtained from the database of the Congenital External Malformation Register, carried out by the University of Guadalajara.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare occurrence in pregnant women. We describe the case of a 21-year old woman, seen at "Nuevo Hospital Civil de Guadalajara" with a term pregnancy, who presented with limbs weakness and paresthesias, drowsiness and malaise. Her vital signs were normal but she was quadriparetic, there was muscular atrophy in the extremities and deep tendon reflexes were decreased.

The nutritional recommendations for newborn babies and infants change when there is an improvement on the technics and knowledge for evaluating requirements of each nutrient. In general, breast milk is enough for covering the nutritional requirements on healthy infants during the first six months of life. Therefore, the nutritional recommendations are focused to newborn babies and infants who do not receive exclusively breast milk or preterm infants whether they receive their own mother's milk or formula.

A comparative, longitudinal, blind prospective study was carried out in 20 students between the ages of 6 and sixteen with primary nocturnal bedwetting and slow learning abilities from the Fray Antonio Alcalde school, in order to evaluate the use of motivating reinforcement techniques, exercises in order to improve bladder function and treatment with imipramine. All of the patients were given motivation reinforcement and bladder exercises. They were later divided into two groups of 10 children; group A was given a placebo while group B was given imipramine.
