Introduction: In this study, Ga-PDTMP was introduced as a novel agent for PET bone scanning.
Methods: Ga-PDTMP was prepared with radiochemical purity of higher than 98% at the optimized conditions.
Results: Stability tests showed no decrease in radiochemical purity, even after 120 min.

In spite of previous efforts, there is lack of a radiotracer for imaging the 5HT receptor density in human brain, which is involved in several neurological brain disorders. The aim of this study was to prepare a new derivative of 1-(2-methoxyphenyl)piperazine (MPP) as a main chemical structure of 5HT receptor antagonist with 3-carbon linker and radiolabeled by [ Tc][Tc(CO) (H O) ] precursor. Docking studies before chemical synthesis showed similar fashion of interaction for both WAY100635 (potent 5HT receptor antagonist) and new designed ligand, despite of addition of Tc(CO) group in the structure of new ligand.

In this work, protective actions have been studied assuming a hypothetical severe accident of the Bushehr nuclear power plant at different meteorological conditions. Simulations of the atmospheric dispersion of accidental airborne releases were performed using the RASCAL code. Total effective dose equivalent (TEDE) and thyroid dose received by members of the public living within a radius of 40 km around the reactor site were calculated for various atmospheric stability classes and weather conditions.

The radiation effects of loss of coolant accident on the reactor operators are critical issues. In the present study, computational codes were used to investigate gamma and neutron dose rates inside the 5 MW pool-type Tehran Research Reactor containment. The carried out calculations showed, when the remaining coolant over the core is decreasing less than 1 m, the containment should be evacuated.

An ionoluminescence (IL) spectral imaging system, besides the common MeV ion imaging facilities such as µ-PIXE and µ-RBS, is implemented at the Van de Graaff laboratory of Tehran. A versatile processing software is required to handle the large amount of data concurrently collected in µ-IL and common MeV ion imaging measurements through the respective methodologies. The open-source freeware PyMca, with image processing and multivariate analysis capabilities, is employed to simultaneously process common MeV ion imaging and µ-IL data.
