Background: Determining the optimal energy layer (EL) for each field, under considering both dose constraints and delivery efficiency, is crucial to promoting the development of proton arc therapy (PAT) technology.
Purpose: This study aimed to explore the feasibility and potential clinical benefits of utilizing machine learning (ML) technique to automatically select EL for each field in PAT plans of lung cancer.
Methods: Proton Bragg peak position (BPP) was employed to characterize EL.

Introduction: Parotid pleomorphic adenomas necessitate surgical intervention, with a growing emphasis on preserving salivary function post-surgery due to its critical role in maintaining oral health and overall quality of life. This study aims to evaluate a surgical method meticulously designed to preserve salivary function following partial superficial parotidectomy, utilizing Technetium-99m scintigraphy.
Materials And Methods: This single-center prospective cohort study was conducted in Mashhad, Iran, between 2022 and 2023.

This research attempted to prepare silver-doped zinc oxide/magnesium oxide nanocomposite (Ag-doped ZnO/MgO-NCP) using plant extract. The synthesized NCP was investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Mapping, and UV-Visible analyses. The XRD data displayed cubic crystal structures for silver & magnesium oxide and a hexagonal framework for zinc oxide.

Objective: Although I-131 is relatively safe, there is limited focus on probable eye-related side effects after radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy. Thus, we aimed to provide evidence for the adverse outcomes of I-131, exclusively in patients with thyroid cancer.
Methods: A systematic review based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines was designed to examine the ocular complications of RAI therapy.

Thyroid nodules (TNs) are a common entity, with the majority being benign. Therefore, employing an accurate rule-out strategy in clinical practice is essential. In the thyroid field, the current era is significantly marked by the worldwide diffusion of ultrasound (US)-based malignancy risk stratification systems of TN, usually reported as Thyroid Imaging Reporting And Data System (TIRADS).

Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disease. Its pathogenesis has not yet been clarified, so it is urgent to explore therapeutic targets. Here, we clarified the role of HDAC6 in the mechanism of action of RA through mediating chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) to provide a clinical treatment of RA.

Gastrointestinal bleeding scintigraphy is a noninvasive study used to determine the presence of active bleeding, localize the bleeding site, and estimate the bleeding volume for prognostic purposes in patients with suspected gastrointestinal bleeding. However, it is important to note that false-positive results can occur due to various reasons. In this case, we present the scenario of a middle-aged woman who exhibited symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding and underwent 99m Tc-RBC scintigraphy.

Background: Marjolin ulcer is a specific type of squamous cell cancer that can benefit from the use of lymphoscintigraphy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate 3 different injection techniques for sentinel node biopsy in patients with Marjolin ulcer.
Methods: Forty-eight patients with Marjolin ulcer (27 male and 21 female) ranging in age from 24 to 85 years were included in our study.

A 76-year-old man with castration-resistant prostate cancer underwent 68 Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT for restaging. A large PSMA-avid tumor with invasion to adjacent organs was noted causing gross hematuria and symptomatic anemia. Two cycles of 177 Lu-PSMA were administered, and the patient showed significant reduction of hematuria as well as declining in PSA levels.

The cancer specificity of fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) uptake remains understudied topic, and several cases of false-positive FAPI PET/CT findings have been reported. We present 2 patients of differentiated thyroid cancer with thyroglobulin elevation and negative iodine scintigraphy syndrome who underwent 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT and 18 F-FDG PET/CT for evaluation of any possible sites for metastatic disease. Although no focus of metastatic disease was found in these patients, remarkable findings were noticed instead.

Purpose: Ovarian cancer in the early stage requires a complete surgical staging, including radical lymphadenectomy, implying subsequent risk of morbidity and complications. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping is a procedure that attempts to reduce radical lymphadenectomy-related complications and morbidities. Our study evaluates the feasibility of SLN mapping in patients with ovarian tumors by the use of intraoperative Technetium-99m-Phytate (Tc-99m-Phytate) and postoperative lymphoscintigraphy using tomographic (single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT)) acquisition.

Background: The current radiobiological model employed for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) treatment planning, which relies on microdosimetry, fails to provide an accurate representation the biological effects of BNCT. The precision in calculating the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) and compound biological effectiveness (CBE) plays a pivotal role in determining the therapeutic efficacy of BNCT. Therefore, this study focuses on how to improve the accuracy of the biological effects of BNCT.

A 36-year-old woman with a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma was referred for 99m Tc-HYNIC-FAPI-46 scan. Her calcitonin levels gradually increased after external beam radiation therapy, whereas her CEA levels were stable. A few suspicious tumoral lymphadenopathies were localized to the superior mediastinum.

Because of our patient's partial PSMA negativity and after a multidisciplinary tumor board discussion, we decided to use a modified protocol involving doublet hormonal therapy along with 177Lu-PSMA and radiation therapy to address the PSMA-negative disease.

Carbamate (CBs) is a class of insecticides which is being known as an important cause of intentional or accidental poisoning. CBs, cause carbamylation of acetylcholinesterase at neuronal synapses and neuromuscular junction. Exposure to CBs through skin contact, inhalation, or ingestion can result in significant cholinergic toxicity.
