Purpose: The LIMOS is a validated observational tool designed to assess stroke rehabilitation within hospital settings. To enable its application in outpatient settings in Brazil and similar low- and middle-income countries, it is necessary to adapt LIMOS into a Patient-Reported Outcome Measure (PROM). Accordingly, this study aimed to translate, cross-culturally adapt, and standardise LIMOS for the Brazilian context (LIMOS-Br) and transform it into a PROM.

This pragmatic double-blind randomized clinical trial aims to assess the impact of vascular photobiomodulation on post-COVID-19 patients experiencing tension-type headache, orofacial pain, or both persisting for more than 3 months. Participants were divided into two groups: vascular photobiomodulation (VPBM) and simulated VPBM. Their conditions were evaluated using the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), Visual Analogue Scale, and Headache Impact Test (HIT-6).

Background: Depression, anxiety, and stress disorders have significant and widespread impacts worldwide, affecting millions of individuals and their communities. According to the World Health Organization, depression impacts the daily lives of more than 300 million people, making it one of the most important diseases globally. Treatment for these mental disorders (MD) typically involves medication and psychotherapies, but also incorporates technological resources like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to indicate personalized therapies and care.

Initial evidence supports the reliability of the Participation Measurement Scale (PM-Scale) in Brazil, but further exploration of its psychometric properties is needed for Brazilian stroke survivors. The aim of the study is to analyze the reliability, convergent validity, internal consistency, and accuracy of the PM-Scale Brazil. A methodological study involved three assessments over intervals of 7-14 days.

Objectve: The purpose of the research was to investigate the effects of aerobic training on renal function, oxidative stress, intrarenal renin-angiotensin system, and mortality of hypertensive and diabetic (SHR-STZ) rats.
Materials And Methods: Blood pressure, creatinine, urea levels, urinary glucose, urine volume, and protein excretion were reduced in trained SHR-STZ rats.
Results: Aerobic training not only attenuated oxidative stress but also elevated the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the kid'ney of SHR-STZ rats.

Introduction: Coexistence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and heart failure(HF) is associated with systemic inflammation, myocardial injury, and arterial stiffening, impacting cardiovascular risk and prognosis in patients. Arterial stiffness, reduced nitric oxide synthesis, and altered cardiac autonomic control further link COPD and HF pathophysiology, emphasizing the need for comprehensive cardiovascular assessment.
Objective: To investigate a cardiovascular profile in patients hospitalized with exacerbation COPD(ECOPD) in coexistence with HF compared with isolated diseases.

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) has shown positive effects when applied locally to modulate the inflammatory process and facilitate muscle repair. However, the available literature on the mechanisms of action of vascular photobiomodulation (VPBM), a non-invasive method of vascular irradiation, specifically in the context of local muscle repair, is limited. Thus, this study aimed to assess the impact of vascular photobiomodulation (VPBM) using a low-level laser (LLL) on the inflammatory response and the process of skeletal muscle repair whether administered prior to or following cryoinjury-induced acute muscle damage in the tibialis anterior (TA) muscles.

This paper presents a novel method for load torque estimation in three-phase induction motors using air gap flux measurement and the conversion of this type of time-domain signal into grayscale images for further processing as inputs for an inception-type convolutional neural network. The magnetic flux was measured employing a Hall effect sensor installed inside the machine, near the stator slots, and above the stator windings. In this case, the sensor was able to measure a resultant magnetic flux density, having both rotor and stator magnetic flux contributions.

Background: Cholesterol in cell membranes is crucial for cell signaling, adhesion, and migration. Membranes feature cholesterol-rich caveolae with caveolin proteins, playing roles in epithelial-mesenchymal transition and cancer progression. Despite elevated cholesterol levels in tumors, its precise function and the effects of its depletion in oral squamous cell carcinoma remain unclear.

The primary objective of the present study was to assess the impact of amber LED photobiomodulation (PBM) on human monocytes and lymphocytes that were polarized into proinflammatory and regulatory/reparative phenotypes. Human leukocytes were polarized with LPS or LPS + IL-4 for 2 h and irradiated after 2 and 6 h with amber LED (590 nm). Cell absorbance spectrum and gene and protein expression of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17, TNF-α and IFNγ determined after 24 h.

Despite the considerable advances in the last years, the health information systems for health surveillance still need to overcome some critical issues so that epidemic detection can be performed in real time. For instance, despite the efforts of the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MoH) to make COVID-19 data available during the pandemic, delays due to data entry and data availability posed an additional threat to disease monitoring. Here, we propose a complementary approach by using electronic medical records (EMRs) data collected in real time to generate a system to enable insights from the local health surveillance system personnel.

Despite significant efforts to control cancer progression and to improve oncology treatment outcomes, recurrence and tumor resistance are frequently observed in cancer patients. These problems are partly related to the presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs). Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been developed as a therapeutic approach for solid tumors; however, it remains unclear how this therapy can affect CSCs.

To review the effects of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) on pain intensity and disability in people with plantar fasciitis (PF) when compared with control conditions, other interventions, and adjunct therapies. Systematic searches were conducted in five database randomized controlled trials (RCT). We only included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in adults with PF that compared PBMT to placebo, as well as RCTs that compared PBMT to other interventions; and as an adjunct to other therapies.

Introduction: Just as failure to diagnose an acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in a timely manner affects the patient's outcome; an inaccurate and misplaced impression of the AIS diagnosis is not without its drawbacks. Here, we introduce a two-stage clinical tool to aid in the screening of AIS cases in need of imaging in the emergency department (ED).
Methods: This was a multicenter cross-sectional study, in which suspected AIS patients who underwent a brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were included.

Purpose: Studying breast and cervical cancers in space and time and verifying divergences of different territorially established socioeconomic profiles.
Methods: Ecological study using spatial scanning (with socioeconomic characterization), space-time, and spatial variation of temporal trends, in order to identify significant clusters of high- and low-risk or temporal trends, of deaths from breast cancer and cervical cancer, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, during 2000-2016.
Results: High-risk spatial clusters were identified in the central areas, and low-risk clusters were identified in the peripheral areas, which were associated with better and worse socioeconomic conditions, respectively.
