The main purpose of this study is to investigate how tinnitus affects people in their everyday life in China. A deductive qualitative analysis examined whether an Western-centric conceptual framework could extend to an Asian context.

Methods: We performed a retrospective study at the EENT Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, China. A total of 41 affected eyes from 41 patients were enrolled in this study.

To evaluate the influence of analysis mode selection on prediction accuracy of corneal astigmatism using Pentacam. Fifty-nine eyes of 59 patients implanted with toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) were included in the retrospective study. Preoperative corneal astigmatism (total refractive power) measured with Pentacam was analyzed based on 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-mm ring or zone mode either centered on corneal apex or pupil center.

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are prone to ocular surface infections. We therefore characterized the conjunctival microbiome of T2DM patients and the influence of topical levofloxacin to investigate whether a dysbiosis is associated with this phenomenon. Conjunctival microbiome of 79 T2DM patients and 113 non-diabetic controls was profiled using the 16S rDNA sequencing approach.
