Article Synopsis
  • - The Integrator complex consists of at least 13 conserved proteins that interact with RNA polymerase II to regulate snRNA processing and gene expression.
  • - This study highlights the role of Integrator subunit 6 (INTS-6) in the DNA damage response, specifically its necessity for forming RAD-51 foci after X-ray radiation exposure.
  • - The presence of INTS-6 is also shown to be essential for the phosphorylation of CDK-1 at Tyr-15, contributing to our understanding of how the Integrator complex participates in DNA repair processes.

External multicentre validation of pseudomyxoma peritonei PSOGI-Ki67 classification.

Eur J Surg Oncol

Maimonides Biomedical Research Institute of Cordoba (IMIBIC), Reina Sofia University Hospital, University of Cordoba, Cordoba, Spain. Electronic address:

Background: Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare malignant disease. Adding of the Ki67 proliferation index to the PSOGI PMP classification provided two different subcategories of the extensive HG-PMP group (HG-PMP ≤15% and HG-PMP >15%) with different survival in a previous unicentric study. This study aims to carry out an external and multicentre validation of this new proposed classification.

Three new species of the genus (Annelida, Nereididae) from Egyptian coasts.

Zookeys

Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, PO Box 4646, Darwin NT 0800, Australia Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory Darwin Australia.

Despite being one of the most common groups of polychaetes on intertidal shores, the genus (Nereididae) is comparatively poorly known taxonomically, with confusion still existing due to the lack of comprehensive systematic studies. The systematics of species from the intertidal Egyptian coasts of the Red Sea, Gulf of Suez and Suez Canal have been investigated using morphology and the mitochondrial barcoding marker cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI). New sequence data was obtained for 102 specimens and analysis included all publicly available COI data from other species.

We are rapidly approaching a future in which cancer patient digital twins will reach their potential to predict cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in individual patients. This will be realized based on advances in high performance computing, computational modeling, and an expanding repertoire of observational data across multiple scales and modalities. In 2020, the US National Cancer Institute, and the US Department of Energy, through a trans-disciplinary research community at the intersection of advanced computing and cancer research, initiated team science collaborative projects to explore the development and implementation of predictive Cancer Patient Digital Twins.

During efforts to generate DNA barcodes for all European Lepidoptera, (Zeller, 1839) was found to comprise two genetically distinct clusters. Morphological investigation and results from two nuclear markers and ddRAD sequencing furthermore support the existence of two distinct taxa which we treat as two separate species, and A lectotype for is designated. Available data indicate that the biology of both species also differs, with (L.

Biodiversity informatics is a new and evolving field, requiring efforts to develop capacity and a curriculum for this field of science. The main objective was to summarise the level of activity and the efforts towards developing biodiversity informatics curricula, for work-based training and/or academic teaching at universities, taking place within the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) countries and its associated network. A survey approach was used to identify existing capacities and resources within the network.

The Mediterranean specimens of the genus collected from shallow water habitats during several surveys and cruises undertaken mostly off the Italian coast are revised. As a result of the disentanglement of the complex and the examination of new material, three new species, , , and , are described from submarine caves or associated with seagrasses and algae. An additional species sp.

Article Synopsis
  • Recent guidelines suggest that patient education, exercise, and weight management should be prioritized in treating hip or knee osteoarthritis, which is where the AktivA program comes in as a new physiotherapy model for primary care.
  • The program consists of three parts: training for physiotherapists, an education and exercise regimen for patients, and an electronic tracking system for quality assessment.
  • Evaluation showed that after participating, patients experienced significant improvements in pain levels and quality of life, with lasting benefits and increased physical activity maintained over two years post-program.

For the first time, a nearly complete barcode library for European Gelechiidae is provided. DNA barcode sequences (COI gene - cytochrome oxidase 1) from 751 out of 865 nominal species, belonging to 105 genera, were successfully recovered. A total of 741 species represented by specimens with sequences ≥ 500bp and an additional ten species represented by specimens with shorter sequences were used to produce 53 NJ trees.

is a crustose to squamulose lichen genus inhabiting the bark of trees in moist tropical forests and rainforests. Species identification is generally challenging and is mainly based on ascospore morphology, thallus morphology and anatomy, vegetative dispersal units, and on secondary chemistry. While regional treatments of the genus have been conducted for Africa, South America and Australia, there exists no study focusing on the Asian and Melanesian species.

In his recent self-published book "Reptiles en Chile", Diego Demangel Miranda presented 13 taxonomic changes for liolaemid and tropidurid lizards. While these could be considered validly published according to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, we show that these taxonomic propositions lack the necessary scientific rigor in terms of replicability, specimen work, lack of peer review and that they do not follow best practices accepted by the herpetological community. Therefore, we hereby invalidate all 13 taxonomic changes proposed in this book, leaving the taxonomy unaffected.

Predictors of outcome after primary flexor tendon repair in zone 1, 2 and 3.

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway.

Unlabelled: We retrospectively reviewed the outcomes of flexor tendon repairs in zones 1, 2 and 3 in 356 fingers in 291 patients between 2005 and 2010. The mean (standard deviation) active ranges of motion of two interphalangeal joints of the fingers were 98° (40) and 114° (45) at 8 weeks postoperatively and at the last follow-up (mean 7 months, range 3-98), respectively. Using the Strickland criteria, 'excellent' or 'good' function was obtained in 95 (30%) out of 322 fingers at 8 weeks and 107 (48%) out of 225 fingers at the last follow-up.

We reflect on the experiences of a researcher conducting a pilot exercise project with marginalized research participants within the substance use disorder treatment field, in a language that was nonnative to her. While the project collected and analyzed quantitative data, the researcher was motivated by qualitative inquiry's commitment to reducing participant-researcher distance and power differences. Despite multiple sources of power imbalances favoring the researcher, the ability of participants to speak their native language to a nonnative researcher, and the researcher's active recognition of her linguistic vulnerability, appeared to afford them an unexpected source of power within the context of the project.

This review aims to give an update on the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy is mainly an autosomal dominant inherited disease linked to mutations in genes encoding desmosomes or desmosome-related proteins. Classic symptoms include palpitations, cardiac syncope, and aborted cardiac arrest due to ventricular arrhythmias.
