Situating the parietal memory network in the context of multiple parallel distributed networks using high-resolution functional connectivity.

A principle of brain organization is that networks serving higher cognitive functions are widely distributed across the brain. One exception has been the parietal memory network (PMN), which plays a role in recognition memory but is often defined as being restricted to posteromedial association cortex. We hypothesized that high-resolution estimates of the PMN would reveal small regions that had been missed by prior approaches.

Evaluation of an Interdisciplinary Screening Program for People With Parkinson Disease and Movement Disorders.

Objective: To describe the characteristics of people with Parkinson disease and movement disorders (PDMDs) referred by neurologist to a physiatrist-led interdisciplinary rehabilitation screening program.

Design: Retrospective data analysis of electronic health records (EMRs).

Setting: Outpatient PDMD neurology clinic and an interdisciplinary rehabilitation hospital's PDMD screening program.

Pharmacotherapy of Apnea by Cannabimimetic Enhancement, the PACE Clinical Trial: Effects of Dronabinol in Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Study Objectives: There remains an important and unmet need for fully effective and acceptable treatments in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). At present, there are no approved drug treatments. Dronabinol has shown promise for OSA pharmacotherapy in a small dose-escalation pilot study.

Medical management of meningiomas.

The efficacy of surgery and radiation has been well validated in the treatment of meningiomas, with efficacy depending on tumor pathology, size, symptomatology and rate of progression. The role of medical therapy has the least amount of data but is being increasingly investigated for tumors that are inoperable or those tumors that recur and/or progress despite standard therapy. In this review, current data on the use of chemotherapeutic agents in the management of meningiomas will be reviewed, including cytotoxic, biologic, targeted molecular and hormonal agents.
