However, general anesthesia not only requires the participation of professional anesthesiologists for surgery but also has a high cost and anesthesia risks. Parents have a low acceptance rate.

Effects of multilevel postpartum family planning intervention on the reduction of unintended pregnancy and induced abortion rates within 12 months of delivery: A cluster randomized controlled study in China.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a multilevel promoting postpartum family planning (PPFP) intervention on the reduction of unintended pregnancies and induced abortions in China.

Study Design: We performed a cluster randomized intervention study to assess the effects of a multilevel PPFP intervention on the rates of unintended pregnancy and induced abortion within 12 months postpartum. Thirty-six hospitals were included and randomly allocated to two groups at a 1:1 ratio, enrolling 180 pregnant women per hospital starting in January 2019.

Introduction: Ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum blocks are commonly used for postoperative analgesia during caesarean section. Ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum blocks can be performed through four approaches, including lateral, posterior, anterior, and intramuscular quadratus lumborum blocks. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to determine the optimal approach to ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum blocks for postoperative analgesia in elective caesarean section.

Site-specific N-glycoproteomic analysis reveals up-regulated fucosylation in seminal plasma of asthenozoospermia.

N-linked glycoproteins are rich in seminal plasma, playing essential roles in supporting sperm function and fertilization process. The alteration of seminal plasma glycans and its correspond glycoproteins may lead to sperm dysfunction and even infertility. In present study, an integrative analysis of glycoproteomic and proteomic was performed to investigate the changes of site-specific glycans and glycoptoteins in seminal plasma of asthenozoospermia.

Caffeic acid and diabetic neuropathy: Investigating protective effects and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1)-related antioxidative and anti-inflammatory mechanisms in mice.

Diabetic neuropathy (DN) represents a common and debilitating complication of diabetes, affecting a significant proportion of patients. Despite available treatments focusing on symptom management, there remains an unmet need for therapies that address the underlying pathophysiology. In pursuit of novel interventions, this study evaluated the therapeutic effects of caffeic acid-a natural phenolic compound prevalent in various foods-on diabetic neuropathy using a mouse model, particularly examining its interaction with the Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) signaling pathway.

Fertility preservation in male adolescents with cancer (2011-2020): A retrospective study in China.

Background: According to the studies, more than 80% of pediatric patients with cancer can achieve a survival rate greater than 5 years; however, long-term chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy may seriously affect their reproductive ability. Fertility preservation in adolescents with cancer in China was initiated late, and related research is lacking. Analyze data to understand the current situation and implement measures to improve current practices.

Plastic Clamp Versus Conventional Surgical Dissection Technique in Pediatric Circumcision: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Purpose: Phimosis is a common condition of the urinary system in children and often requires surgical treatment. However, the optimal method of circumcision for children has not been determined. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the safety and effectiveness of plastic clamp with conventional surgical circumcision in pediatric circumcision.

Using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to predict potential biomarkers for missed miscarriage and its metabolic pathways in a tertiary center: A cross-sectional analytic study.

Objective: To determine and compare the serum metabolites in missed abortion versus normal early pregnancy using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography and tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and to determine how these metabolites can be used to predict the potential biomarkers and possible metabolic pathways of a missed abortion.

Methods: The serum of patients with a missed abortion was used as the experimental group and the serum of patients with an induced abortion during normal early pregnancy was used as the control group. Principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least square discriminant analysis were additionally used to observe the difference in metabolite distribution between the two groups.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common malignancy in men. However, the molecular mechanism of its pathogenesis has not yet been elucidated. In this study, we demonstrated that CYLD, a novel deubiquitinating enzyme, impeded PCa development and progression via tumor suppression.

Factors affecting the reproductive outcome in reciprocal translocation carriers undergoing preimplantation genetic testing for structural rearrangements (PGTSR).

Objective: To investigate the reproductive outcomes of balanced reciprocal translocation carriers and evaluate the association between the number of metaphase-II oocytes retrieved and cumulative live birth rates (LBRs).

Methods: This retrospective analysis included 344 preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) for structural rearrangement cycles of 281 couples with balanced reciprocal translocations between January 2018 and January 2021. All patients included in the analysis had either delivered a baby or had used all their embryos after one stimulation cycle.

Analysis of risk factors for parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis in preterm infants: a multicenter observational study.

Background: It is proposed that the development of parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis (PNAC) was significantly associated with preterm birth, low birth weight, infection, etc.; however, the etiology and pathogenesis of PNAC are not fully understood. Most of the studies examining PNAC-associated risk factors were single-center studies with relatively small sample sizes.

Single-incision versus conventional laparoscopic pyloromyotomy for pediatric hypertrophic pyloric stenosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of single-incision versus conventional laparoscopic pyloromyotomy in pediatrics, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Methods: A literature search was conducted to identify studies that compared single-incision laparoscopic pyloromyotomy (SILP) and conventional laparoscopic pyloromyotomy (CLP) for infants with hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (HPS). Meta-analysis was used to pool and compare variables such as operative time, time to full feeding, length of hospital stay, mucosal perforation, inadequate pyloromyotomy, wound infection, incisional hernia and overall complications.
