Background: Intussusception is one of the most common acute abdominal conditions in pediatric patients, and if left untreated, it may result in intestinal necrosis and even death. The etiology of the disease is unknown and may be related to a variety of factors, and there are only limited reports of small bowel necrosis secondary to abnormal Peyer's node hyperplasia after MMR vaccination.
Case Presentation: In this report, we present two infants who had an abnormal proliferation of Peyer's nodes secondary to intussusception eventually leading to small bowel necrosis after MMR vaccination.

Aim: This study aimed to verify the accuracy of intraoperative femurofibular angle combined with tibiofibular angle (FFA-TFA) measurement and compare it with traditional alignment line methods in open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO).
Methods: A total of 174 knees of 122 patients undergoing OWHTO and using an alignment line or FFA-TFA measurement as an index of optimal correction were included in this retrospective study. The intraoperative alignment line passed through the targeted weight-bearing line (WBL) of the tibial plateau in the alignment line group.

Background: The potential effect of removing danger-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) from gut lymph on reducing acute lung injury (ALI) induced by gut ischemia-reperfusion injury (GIRI) is uncertain. This study aimed to investigate whether gut lymph purification (GLP) could improve GIRI-induced acute lung injury in rats by clearing danger-associated molecular patterns.
Materials And Methods: Rats were divided into four groups: Sham, GIRI, GIRI + gut lymph drainage (GLD), and GIRI + GLP.

Ammonium dinitramide (NHN(NO), ADN) is regarded as a promising oxidizer due to its low signature and high specific impulse. Generally, ADN undergoes exothermic decomposition above 140 °C accompanied by the byproduct of ammonium nitrate (AN). The inevitable endothermic decomposition of AN decreases the overall heat release, and so there is a need to develop efficient catalysts to guide ADN decomposition along desired pathways with a lower decomposition temperature and higher heat release.

Clinical evidence shows that the mechanical stimulation obtained from occlusion could enhance periodontal ligament (PDL) remodeling. Mechano-growth factor (MGF) is a growth factor produced specifically following mechanical stimulus Here, we aim to investigate the mechanical enhancement potential and mechanism of the MGF in PDL regeneration. In vivo study found that MGF produced from the PDL under occlusion force could strongly enhance PDL remodeling.

In the past decade, virus-like particles (VLPs) that can encapsulate single or multiple enzymes have been studied extensively as typical nanoreactors for biocatalysis , yet their catalytic efficiencies are usually inadequate for real applications. These biocatalytic nanoreactors should be engineered like their free-enzyme counterparts to improve their catalytic performance for potential applications. Herein we engineer biocatalytic VLPs for the enhanced synthesis of chiral alcohols.

The geochemistry of Li and Li isotopes is a promising tracer of chemical weathering processes for both modern and ancient times. Therefore, accurate and precise determination of the isotopic composition of Li is required for a large variety of complex geological samples with different Li concentrations and matrix/Li ratios. Especially, geochemical studies of precious geological samples with ultra-low lithium content and high matrix.

Background: Although cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases, its image segmentation method needs to be further improved, and there are still objections about the clinical application effect of general anesthesia (GA) on children's dental fear (CDF).
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the application value of CBCT based on intelligent computer segmentation model in oral diagnosis and treatment of children in the context of biomedical signals, and to analyze the alleviating effect of GA on CDF.
Methods: Based on the regional level set (CV) algorithm, the local binary fitting (LBF) model was introduced to optimize it, and the tooth CBCT image segmentation model CV-LBF was established to compare the segmentation accuracy (SA), maximum symmetric surface distance (MSSD), average symmetric surface distance (ASSD), over segmentation rate (OR), and under segmentation rate (UR) between these model and other algorithms.

However, the influence of defects and coordination structures on the catalytic performance of Fe-N-C has not been completely elucidated. In our present investigation, based on density functional theory, we take an Fe adsorbed graphene structure containing a 5-8-5 divacancy (585DV) defect as a research model and investigate the influence of the coordination number of N atoms around Fe (Fe-NC) on the ORR electrocatalyst behavior in alkaline conditions.

Metal organic complexes are regarded as a series of promising combustion catalysts for solid rocket propellants. Their effects on the combustion performance of propellants are closely related to the reaction mechanism. Here, the metal-organic complex Cu(Salen) was investigated as a candidate material for the combustion catalyst of the HMX-added composite modified double-base propellant (HMX-CMDB).

Organic xanthates are broadly applied as synthetic intermediates and bioactive molecules in synthetic chemistry. Electrophilic xanthylation represents a promising approach but has rarely been explored mainly due to the lack of powerful electrophilic reagents. Herein, synthetic exploration of electrophilic xanthylation powerful -xanthylphthalimides was investigated.

Obstructive jaundice caused by malignant distal biliary obstruction is a common clinical symptom in patients with inoperable biliary-pancreatic cancer. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)-guided stent implantation is an effective treatment for obstructive jaundice. Internal stent drainage is more physiologic and associated with a better quality of life than external stent drainage methods such as percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage or percutaneous transhepatic cholangiodrainage.

Removal of heavy metal pollution is an endless topic, because heavy metals can cause irreversible damage to the human body and environment. It is urgent to develop novel materials for detection and adsorption of heavy metal ions. In this paper, waste wolfberry straw was utilized as a carbon source, and two simple methods were developed to successfully prepare activated carbon (AC) and carbon quantum dots (CQDs).

Nanomaterials are promising carriers to improve the bioavailability and therapeutic efficiency of drugs by providing preferential drug accumulation at their sites of action, but their delivery efficacy is severely limited by a series of biological barriers, especially the mononuclear phagocytic system (MPS)-the first and major barrier encountered by systemically administered nanomaterials. Herein, the current strategies for evading the MPS clearance of nanomaterials are summarized. First, engineering nanomaterials methods including surface modification, cell hitchhiking, and physiological environment modulation to reduce the MPS clearance are explored.

Chloride ion batteries (CIBs) have drawn growing attention as attractive candidates for large-scale energy storage technology because of their high theoretical energy densities (2500 W h L), dendrite-free characteristics and abundance of chloride-containing materials available worldwide. However, the further development of CIBs is greatly limited by sluggish Cl diffusion and distinct structural variation of cathode materials, resulting in severe decayed capacity and inferior rate performance. Metal-organic framework (MOF) materials possess regular pores/channels and flexible structural designability to accommodate charge carrier ions, but the application of MOFs in anion-type batteries has not been reported.

Background: An important factor in tumor development and progression is the tumor microenvironment (TME), which is heterogeneous. Previous studies have mainly investigated the expression profile and prognostic values of genes in gastric cancer (GC) at the cell population level but neglected the interactions and heterogeneity between cells.
Methods: The pattern of ligand-receptor (LR) interactions was delineated on a scRNA-seq dataset containing 44,953 cells from nine GC patients and a fourth bulk RNA-seq dataset including data from 1159 GC patients.
