Controllable β-carbon elimination to extrude norbornene remains a long-standing challenge in palladium and norbornene chemistry. Herein, this manuscript describes a switchable synthesis of biologically active C4-ethylaminoindole and C7-aminoindoline scaffolds by controlling β-carbon elimination, utilizing aziridine as a C-H ethylamination reagent through a C-N bond cleavage reaction. Furthermore, the protecting groups of the product can be easily removed, offering an unusual method for the synthesis of dopamine receptor agonists.

Over the past decade, transition metal (TM)-based electrodes have shown intriguing physicochemical properties and widespread applications, especially in the field of supercapacitor energy storage owing to their diverse configurations, composition, porosity, and redox reactions. As one of the most intriguing research interests, the design of porous architectures in TM-based electrode materials has been demonstrated to facilitate ion/electron transport, modulate their electronic structure, diminish strain relaxation, and realize synergistic effects of multi-metals. Herein, the recent advances in porous TM-based electrodes are summarized, focusing on their typical synthesis strategies, including template-mediated assembly, thermal decomposition strategy, chemical deposition strategy, and host-guest hybridization strategy.

We have designed and synthesized three novel benzo[de]isoquinoline-1,3-dione (BQD) condensed asymmetric azaacenes, BQD-TZ, BQD-AP and BQD-PA, with different end groups of 1,2,5-thiadiazole, acenaphthylene and phenanthrene. The triisopropylsilylethynyl groups were grafted to increase the solubility and crystallinity of the three molecules. These molecules have high electron affinity values of 3.

The nature and fabrication of fiber coatings with good adsorption capacity and selectivity play a decisive role in solid-phase microextraction (SPME). In this work, a novel SPME fiber was fabricated through hydrothermal growth of octahedral TiO nanoparticles (TiONPs) on a superelastic nickel/titanium alloy (NiTi) wire substrate in acid solution. The resulting fiber coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Carbon-based materials are manufactured as high-performance electrodes using biomass waste in the renewable energy storage field. Herein, four types of hierarchical porous activated carbon using hibiscus sabdariffa fruits (HBFs) as a low-cost biomass precursor are synthesized through carbonization and activation. NHCl is used as a chemical blowing agent to form carbon nanosheets, which are the first types of hibiscus sabdariffa fruit-based carbon (HBFC-1) sample, and KOH also forms a significant bond in the activation process.

A new electrochemical sensor for hydroquinone (HQ) was prepared. The electrochemical sensor was modified by electrodeposition and electrochemical polymerization to modify nanometer cobalt (nano-Co) and poly-l-glutamic acid (poly-l-glu) on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Then, the electrochemical behavior of hydroquinone on the electrochemical sensor was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV).

Development of novel porous materials for efficient adsorption and removal of environmental pollutants from aqueous solution is of great importance and interest in environmental science and chemistry. Herein, we reported a facile synthesis of recyclable magnetic carbonaceous porous composite derived from iron-based metal-organic framework MIL-100(Fe) for superior adsorption and removal of malachite green (MG) from aqueous solution. Because of large surface area and high porosity, the synthesized magnetic carbonaceous porous material presented a superior adsorption capacity of 2090 mg g for MG.
