To investigate the impact of genetic factors on wine aroma, wines made from 22 clones of five grape varieties ( L.) were used to analyze the volatile compounds by headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometer (HS-SPME-GC-MS) and headspace gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS). Results showed that 52 and 49 aroma compounds were identified from 22 clones of wines by two technologies, respectively.

An efficient phospha-aldol/Meyer-Schuster rearrangement cascade reaction between propargylic aldehydes and phosphine oxides has been developed in which various phosphoryl enones were obtained in moderate to excellent yields. A comprehensive series of mechanistic experiments, including the identification of key intermediates and the application of O isotope labeling, has confirmed that this cascade reaction proceeds through a phospha-aldol followed by Meyer-Schuster rearrangement cascade reaction.

Purpose: Northwest axis on an electrocardiogram is conventionally thought to be associated with CHD, but there is a paucity of data regarding the types and incidence of CHD associated with this finding. The purpose of this study was to report the types and incidence of CHD found at our institution to determine the efficacy of electrocardiograms as a screening test in infants.
Methods: Retrospective, single-centre study of all infants ≤ 60 days of age who underwent a first-time electrocardiogram from 2015 to 2021.

Green is no longer the only color used to describe tea leaves. As tea plants with different leaf colors-white, yellow, and purple-yield significant economic benefits, scholars are growing increasingly curious about whether these differently colored leaves possess unique aromatic characteristics. Headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) combined with GC-MS was used to analyze the volatile metabolites of buds and leaves from 7 white-leaf tea plants, 9 yellow-leaf tea plants, 4 purple-leaf tea plants, and 7 normal (green) tea plants.

Lipids are essential sources of carbon and energy during flaxseed germination; however, the dynamic changes in key lipid metabolites, pathways, and their locations remain unclear. This study revealed that oil bodies migrated from well-distributed locations to the cell wall between 0-2 d, with cell contours gradually blurring during 2-3 d, initiating the germination process. Subsequently, the order of oil body migration was leaf > stem > root during 4-7 d.

This study constructed a composite system with different ratios (100:0, 95:5, 90:10, and 80:20) of glutein compounded with various esterified starch (3 % and 6 %). The results demonstrated that the esterification process enhanced the viscosity of the starch gel system. Furthermore, the optimal esterification level (3 %) facilitated the formation of a dense composite gel network, as observed through microstructure observation.

Background: The senescence of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) is increasingly recognized as a critical factor contributing to the pathophysiology of age-related diseases. Recent studies suggest that small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from the serum of elderly individuals may play a pivotal role in promoting BMMSC senescence. Glycoprotein non-metastatic melanoma protein B (GPNMB), a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, is upregulated during cellular senescence and can regulate stem cell ageing.

Fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) was the first m6A demethylase identified, which is responsible for eliminating m6A modifications in target RNAs. While it is well-established that numerous cytosolic and nuclear proteins undergo O-GlcNAcylation, the possibility of FTO being O-GlcNAcylated and its functional implications remain unclear. This study found that a negative correlation between FTO expression and O-GlcNAcylation in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Recently, the incidence rate and mortality of various acute or chronic vascular occlusive diseases have increased yearly. As one of the most effective measures to treat them, vascular stents have been widely studied by researchers, and presently, the most commonly used is a drug-eluting stent, which reduces the process of rapid endothelialization because the drug is not selective. Fortunately, with the discovery and exploration of micro-nanostructures that can regulate cells selectively, reducing the incidence of "intravascular restenosis" and achieving rapid endothelialization simultaneously are possible through a special structure that cannot only improve endothelial cells (ECs), but also inhibit smooth muscle cells (SMCs).

Charosphere, a highly active zone between biochar and surrounding soil, is widely present in agricultural and wildfire-affected soils, yet whether reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced within the charosphere remains unclear. Herein, the production and spatiotemporal evolution of charosphere ROS were explored. In situ ROS capture visualized a gradual decrease in ROS production with increasing distance from the biochar/soil interface.

Triacylglycerol (TAG) is a major component of plant-neutral lipids. Diacylglycerol acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) plays an important role in plant oil accumulation by catalyzing the final step of the Kennedy pathway. In this study, ten DGAT2 sequences were originating from different oil crops into the TAG-deficient yeast strain H1246, to compare their enzyme activity of oil synthesis and filter out potential amino acid residue sites for directed evolution.

Room-temperature non-aqueous sodium metal batteries are viable candidates for cost-effective and safe electrochemical energy storage. However, they show low specific energy and poor cycle life as the use of conventional organic-based non-aqueous electrolyte solutions enables the formation of interphases that cannot prevent degradations at the positive and negative electrodes. Here, to promote the formation of inorganic NaF-rich interphases on both negative and positive electrodes, we propose the salt-in-presalt (SIPS) electrolyte formulation strategy.

Controlling runoff pollution is crucial to improving ecological environments in the context of urbanization and climate change. However, a significant research gap remains in the treatment and reuse of roof runoff, particularly during the first flush. To address this, a novel dry-wet polymorphic constructed wetland (DWP-CW) system was developed to purify first flush runoff efficiently and reliably.

Multidrug resistance (MDR) has become a major challenge in tumor chemotherapy, primarily associated with the overexpression of P-glycoprotein (P-gp). Inhibiting P-gp expression and function through redox dyshomeostasis has shown great potential for reversing MDR. Here, a nanoscale system of copper-based metal-organic framework (HA-CuMOF@DOX) modified with hyaluronic acid (HA) was constructed to overcome MDR via two-way regulation of redox homeostasis under hypoxia.

Microalgae technology is highly attractive in the realm of wastewater treatment and CO removal. However, during the cultivation of microalgae, the phenomenon of light attenuation intensifies with the increasing cell concentration, resulting in a decrement in microalgal growth rate. To maintain high light transmittance and growth rate of microalgae, this study introduces a two-step pre-harvesting process involving flocculation and filtration within an airlift photobioreactor.

Chemical dosing constitutes an effective strategy for sulfide control in sewers; however, its efficacy requires further optimization and enhancement. In this study, a novel dosing strategy using the synergistic dosing of calcium peroxide (CaO) and ferrous ions (Fe) for sulfide control was proposed, and its efficacy in controlling sulfides was evaluated using a long-term laboratory-scale reactor. The results showed that adding CaO-Fe improves the effect of sulfide control.
