Enhanced microbial remediation represents a promising technique for the removal of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). However, high-efficiency remediation agents remain limited, including microbial resources and remediation materials. In this study, a novel strain of Pseudomonas xizangensis S4 was isolated from plateau lake sediment, exhibiting a fluoranthene degradation rate of 41.

This study employs an integrated approach, combining three-dimensional flow visualization and two-dimensional flow measurement to investigate the underlying unsteady aerodynamic mechanisms of hovering hawkmoths. Using a single vortex ring model, three aerodynamic force components, such as aerodynamic force induced by unsteady circulation, vortex loop size variation and added mass, are estimated within a dimensionless time (normalized by one wing beat cycle) range of 0.418 < < 0.

To maintain stable vision, behaving animals make compensatory eye movements in response to image slip, a reflex known as the optokinetic response (OKR). Although OKR has been studied in several avian species, eye movements during flight are expected to be minimal. This is because vertebrates with laterally placed eyes typically show weak OKR to nasal-to-temporal motion (NT), which simulates typical forward locomotion, compared with temporal-to-nasal motion (TN), which simulates atypical backward locomotion.

Some research has studied the carbon footprints of the multinational enterprises (MNEs) in the global value chains (GVCs). However, currently there are few studies have studied the carbon footprints of the foreign invested firms (FIFs) distributed in different provinces in China's domestic value chains (DVCs). This paper has used China's inter-provincial input-output table distinguishing domestically owned enterprises (DEs), Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan (HMTs) invested enterprises and other foreign invested enterprises (FIEs) to study the carbon footprints of the FIFs in China's DVCs and further analyzed the driving factors of the carbon footprints change.

Owing to its topographic variations, Ethiopia is a biodiversity-rich country. However, the long-term degradation of resources has resulted in isolated forest patches largely around sacred places. Thus, this work was aimed to evaluate the plant community formation and structural dynamics of the Abraham Sacred Forest patch.

Analysis of crop water requirement and its influencing factors are important for optimal allocation of water resources. However, research on variations of climatic factors and their contribution to wheat water requirement in Xinjiang is insufficient. In our study, daily meteorological data during 1961‒2017 in Xinjiang was collected.

Norvaline is a nonproteinogenic amino acid and an important food ingredient supplement for healthy food. In this study, dl-norvaline administration reduced body weight by more than 40% and improved glucose metabolism and energy metabolism in obese mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD). Combination analysis of microbiome and metabolomics showed that dl-norvaline supplementation regulated gut bacteria structure, such as increasing beneficial bacteria (, , , , , , , and ) and decreasing harmful bacteria (, , , , , and ) and modulated the metabolites involved in arachidonic acid metabolism, thus further promoting short-chain fatty acid production and improving gut barrier, thereby inflammatory responses and oxidative stress were ameliorated.

As the energy density of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) increases, the shortened cycle life and the increased safety hazards of LIBs are drawing increasing concerns. To address such challenges, a series of localized high-concentration electrolytes (LHCEs) based on a solvating-solvent mixture of tetramethylene sulfone and trimethyl phosphate and a high flash-point diluent 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentyl 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl ether were designed. The LHCEs exhibited nonflammability and greatly suppressed heat release at elevated temperatures, which would potentially improve the safety performance of the LIBs.

Ferrihydrite (Fh), a widely distributed mineral in the environment, plays a crucial role in the geochemical cycling of elements. This study used experimental and computational approaches to investigate the adsorption behavior of seven heavy metal ions on Fh. The pH edge analysis revealed that the adsorption capacity followed the order: Pb > Cu > Zn > Cd > Ni > Co > Mn, with Pb showed the highest adsorption.

In this paper we contribute to a long history of research studying interactions between energy systems, international energy trade, and macroeconomic activity. We develop and employ methods to quantify transmission pathways for energy markets to affect the macroeconomy and CO emissions. We track the long-term consequences of a hypothetical permanent disruption to global energy markets, cession of Russian fossil fuel exports, for energy markets, regional and global economic activity (gross domestic product [GDP]), labor and capital markets, and CO emissions against two dramatically different reference scenarios.

Limestone mining in arid regions, particularly within fragile environments, leads to severe environmental pollution and ecological degradation. Developing a scientifically sound and effective ecological rehabilitation strategy is therefore critical. This study constructed a three-dimensional ecological rehabilitation model integrating soil amelioration and vegetation reconstruction.

Introduction: Despite the implementation of mechanical thrombectomy, acute ischaemic stroke with large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO) remains a significant health concern, characterised by substantial morbidity and mortality. Our trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of minocycline in reducing infarct volume and improving functional outcomes in patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy for anterior circulation AIS-LVO.
Methods And Analysis: The MIST-A trial is a prospective, randomised, open-label, blinded-endpoint trial to be conducted across 12 medical centres.

Background: Adults who live or work with children are an important source of support and are gateways to professional help when a child is experiencing a mental health problem. This study aimed to develop consensus-based guidelines on how adults such as parents, educators or health professionals should approach a child aged 5-12 years to discuss concerns about the child's mental health and seek help.
Methods: A Delphi consensus method with three rounds was used.

Objective: The aging population represents a formidable global challenge, with China experiencing an accelerated demographic shift. While previous research has established a directional link between mental health literacy, social participation, and active aging, the moderating effect of socioeconomic status (SES) on these associations remains underexplored. This study sought to address this gap by employing moderated network analysis, in contrast to the total score approaches commonly used in prior literature.
