- A new bioanalytical platform, combining surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and lateral flow assay (SERS-LFA), has been developed for the rapid detection of miR-96-5p linked to gastric cancer (GC).
- The SERS-LFA strips work by measuring the binding competition between miR-96-5p in a sample and a conjugated DNA probe, resulting in a measurable signal that decreases as miR-96-5p levels increase.
- Clinical evaluations show that this biosensor can accurately detect miR-96-5p in patients, providing a quick (30 min) and sensitive diagnosis for early-stage gastric cancer compared to traditional methods like qRT-PCR.
