TRPM8 knockdown relieved inflammatory response and cell apoptosis in pneumonia model induced by Streptococcus pneumoniae in vitro.

Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand)

December 2023

Department of Respiratory And Critical Care Medicine, Northern JiangSu Peoples Hospital, Yangzhou, Nantong West Road No. 98, 225001, Jiangsu, China.

Streptococcus pneumoniae infection remains a leading cause of pneumonia-related deaths. Transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) exerts crucial roles in lung diseases. We first dissected the role of TRPM8 in pneumococcal pneumonia and the mechanism related to TRPM8 effects.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the main reason of irreversible vision loss in the elderly. The subretinal fibrosis subsequent to choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is an important feature in the late stage of wet AMD and is considered to be one reason for incomplete response to anti-VEGF drugs. Recent studies have shown that pericyte-myofibroblast transition (PMT) is an important pathological process involving fibrotic diseases of various organs.

Bioinformatic analysis of pivotal genes associated with septic shock.

J Biol Regul Homeost Agents

February 2018

Department of Pneumology, Second Hospital of Jilin University, Changchun, China.

We aimed to identify important genes associated with septic shock and then explore the possibly significant mechanisms of this disease. We downloaded GSE26440 expression data of samples from 98 children with septic shock and 32 normal controls from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in samples from patients with septic shock were analyzed in comparison with those in samples from normal controls using a limma package.
