Lead halide perovskite single crystals (LHPSC) are promising for room-temperature γ-ray spectroscopy in radiation detection. While MA(CHNH)-based LHPSCs are the most straightforward and cost-effective to synthesize from solution, their performance in γ-ray spectroscopy is hindered by significant noise and ion migration at high bias, which degrades their energy resolution (ER). The work introduced an n-type/intrinsic/n-type photodiode incorporating passivation layers of MA-based LHPSCs, grown through solution-process epitaxial growth.

The limited solubility of graphene in water can be attributed to the existence of π-π bonds connecting its layers. Functionalized graphene or graphene oxide (GO) is frequently produced in order to overcome the shortcomings of graphene. Using density functional theory (DFT) calculation, functionalized graphene with various combinations of hydroxyl, epoxy, and carboxylic functional groups were investigated computationally.

Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the electroosmotic flow of a hybrid nanofluid (Al2O3-Cu/Blood) with gyrotactic microorganisms through a bifurcated artery with mild stenosis in both parent and daughter arteries. The flow is subjected to a uniform magnetic field, viscous dissipation, and a heat source.

Methods: The governing equations undergo the non-dimensional transformation and coordinate conversion to regularize irregular boundaries, then solve the resulting system using the Crank-Nicolson method.

Utilization of Proximate Healthcare Facilities and Children's Wait Times in Senegal: An IV-Tobit Analysis.

Int J Environ Res Public Health

November 2023

Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, North-West University Mafikeng Campus, Mmabatho 2735, South Africa.

Universal health coverage (UHC) defines individuals' timely access to healthcare services without suffering any health-related financial constraints. The Senegalese government has shown commitments towards achievement of UHC as a way of improving access by the population to quality healthcare services. This is very pertinent for promoting some indicators of under-five health in Senegal.

Dataset on effects of nitrogen fertilizer and soil moisture levels on the performance of Water Efficient Maize (WEMA) on Ferric Luvisol and Rhodic Ferralsol soils.

Data Brief

October 2023

Food Security and Safety Niche Area Research Group, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, North-West University Mafikeng Campus, Private Bag x 2046, Mmabatho 2735, South Africa.

The most important factors affecting maize production are water stress and nitrogen deficiency. A greenhouse experiment was conducted to assess the influence of different N fertilizers and soil moisture levels on the growth and yields of the WEMA variety on two different soils. The experiment was designed in a factorial of 5 × 2 × 2 fitted into a three replicate completely randomized design.

Investigating the influence of temperature-dependent rheological properties on nanofluid behavior in heat transfer.

Nanotechnology

October 2023

College of Mathematics and Systems Science, Shandong University of Science & Technology, Qingdao 266590, Shandong, People's Republic of China.

Nanofluids are advanced heat transfer fluids whose performance is influenced by various thermo-physical properties, including nanoparticle volume fraction, base fluid, and temperature. Rheological mathematical models have been established by using empirical data in order to characterize these features as dependent on parameters such as volume fraction, base fluid composition, and temperature. These models have been integrated into transport equations.
