People with physical disabilities report a higher prevalence of psychological distress and chronic stress than those without disabilities. Participation in physical activity (PA) has been considered an effective coping strategy to deal with stressors and improve the mental health of people with disabilities. However, very little research has been conducted to explore the relationship between disability-related stress and PA participation by people with physical disabilities longitudinally on an international scale.

In October 2019, South Korea's first case of African swine fever (ASF) was reported in wild boar in the north of the country. Despite the implementation of a 2300 km-long fencing strategy, the ASF wavefront continued to invade southward. Our study aimed to investigate the ASF wavefront dynamics in different regions of South Korea, as well as to assess the effectiveness of the fencing measures on ASF dispersal and wavefront velocity.

The influence of transboundary air pollutants originating from the Asian continent on South Korea has been a major concern. Although organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) have been banned for several decades, they continue to be detected in the Korean environment. However, studies on the long-range atmospheric transport (LRAT) of OCPs in South Korea, particularly in background areas, remain limited.

Retinoblastoma (RB) proteins are highly conserved transcriptional regulators that play important roles during development by regulating cell-cycle gene expression. RBL2 dysfunction has been linked to a severe neurodevelopmental disorder. However, to date, clinical features have only been described in six individuals carrying five biallelic predicted loss of function (pLOF) variants.

Nonmass lesions (NMLs) on breast ultrasound lack clear definition and encompass a broad range of benign and malignant entities. Given anticipated inclusion of NMLs in the BI-RADS 6th edition, thorough understanding of these lesions will be critical for optimal management. To evaluate interreader agreement for classification of lesions on breast ultrasound as NMLs and to identify imaging features associated with malignancy in these lesions.

This work examined the attachment of porcine rotavirus (PRV) and Tulane virus (TV), a surrogate for human norovirus, to fresh and artificial phylloplanes of Romaine lettuce and Carmel spinach. The effect of produce type, sanitizer, and ultrasound treatment on removal of PRV and TV from produce and artificial surfaces was also investigated. Sanitization was performed with two oxidant-based sanitizers (chlorine and peroxyacetic acid) and one surfactant-based sanitizer (0.

In recent decades, Alzheimer's disease (AD) has garnered significant attention due to its rapid global prevalence. The cholinergic hypothesis posits that the degradation of acetylcholine by acetylcholinesterase (AChE) contributes to AD development. Despite existing anti-AChE drugs, their adverse side effects necessitate new agents.

During clinical placement, nursing students may experience unease and moral distress, which negatively impacts their professional values and vocational choices. However, no instrument exists to measure moral distress in nursing students. Thus, this study constructs measurement items for moral distress and explores the factors that influence the vocational choices of nursing students.

Modeling adsorbates on single-crystal metals is critical in rational catalyst design and other research that requires detailed thermochemistry. First-principles simulations via density functional theory (DFT) are among the prevalent tools to acquire such information about surface species. While they are highly dependable, DFT calculations often require intensive computational resources and runtime.

Objective: High disease activity status (HDAS) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is associated with adverse long-term outcomes. We examined the frequency of lupus low disease activity state (LLDAS) and remission (REM) attainment in HDAS patients and whether their attainment was associated with improved patient outcomes.
Methods: Demographic, clinical and outcomes data, collected prospectively from a multinational cohort between 2013 and 2020, were analysed.

Anaerobic digestion faces numerous challenges, including high CO content in biogas and volatile fatty acids (such as propionate) accumulation in digestate. To address these issues, an up-flow dual-chamber electrocatalytic anaerobic bioreactor (UF-DC-EAB) was developed to enhance propionate degradation through microbial symbiosis while improving biogas quality via CO electromethanogenesis. Under the extreme conditions with propionate as the primary carbon source at 6-h HRT, the UF-DC-EAB achieved a propionate removal efficiency of 72.

Background: Imlunestrant is a next-generation, brain-penetrant, oral selective estrogen-receptor (ER) degrader that delivers continuous ER inhibition, even in cancers with mutations in the gene encoding ERα ().
Methods: In a phase 3, open-label trial, we enrolled patients with ER-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced breast cancer that recurred or progressed during or after aromatase inhibitor therapy, administered alone or with a cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitor. Patients were assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive imlunestrant, standard endocrine monotherapy, or imlunestrant-abemaciclib.

Unlabelled: Due to the structural diversity and complex mechanisms of action of bioactive peptides, screening for specific functional peptides is often challenging. To efficiently screen bioactive peptides with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects from bovine hemoglobin, we employed bioinformatics methods to perform virtual enzymatic hydrolysis using online tools and predicted the bioactivity, toxicity, and sensitization scores of the resulting peptides. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations with Keap1 and TLR4 were subsequently conducted to screen for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory peptides.

Specialized or secondary metabolites are small molecules of biological origin, often showing potent biological activities with applications in agriculture, engineering and medicine. Usually, the biosynthesis of these natural products is governed by sets of co-regulated and physically clustered genes known as biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs). To share information about BGCs in a standardized and machine-readable way, the Minimum Information about a Biosynthetic Gene cluster (MIBiG) data standard and repository was initiated in 2015.

The large-scale application of rechargeable Zn-air batteries (ZABs) necessitates the development of high-efficiency and cost-effective bifunctional electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, the density functional theory calculations were performed to reveal the charge redistribution induced by the Co/CoO heterojunction integrating with N-doped carbon, which could optimize the d-band center, thereby accelerating O transformed into OOH* in the ORR and the conversion of O* into OOH* in OER. Guided by theoretical calculations, Co/CoO hetero-nanoparticles-decorated lignin-derived N-doped porous carbon nanofibers (Co-LCFs-800) were synthesized to use as an advanced self-supported bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst.
