Methods: Sixty male adult Wistar rats were divided into control and experiment groups at random. The experiment group subjected to heat shock under 45 degrees C for 15 min, and maintained under 42 degrees C for 20 min subsequently.

This study was aimed to explore the effects of STI571 alone or with As₂O₃ on proliferation, apoptosis and caspase 3, bcl-xL mRNA expression of K562 cells, and the molecular mechanism of As₂O₃ enhancing the anti-leukemia effect of STI571 so as to provide the scientific basis for clinical treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia. The effect of drugs on proliferation of K562 cells was assayed by MTT method, the apoptosis rate of K562 cells was detected by flow cytometry with Annexin V/PI double staining, the caspase 3, bcl-xL mRNA expressions of K562 cells were determined by real time quantitative PCR. The results showed that STI571 alone or with As₂O₃ both could inhibit the proliferation of K562 cells.

Methods: From January 2004 to March 2009, 38 patients (43 fingers) with finger tissue defect were treated with the modified island flaps based on the reversed dorsal metacarpal artery. The diverting point was altered from the dorsal point to the palm.

Objective: To explore the changes and significance of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-9 and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP)-9 in serum of patients with coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP).
Methods: Serum MMP-9 and TIMP-9 were determined by sandwich ELISA in 188 cases of coal workers' pneumoconiosis (including 53 cases of coal pneumoconiosis, 67 cases of coal-silica pneumoconiosis and 68 cases of silicosis), 57 cases of 0+ miner (group 0+), 64 cases of healthy miner (dust exposed control) and 50 healthy people (healthy control) , and were further evaluated according to stage, complication, and the duration of exposure to dust in CWP group.
Results: The median of serum MMP-9 in coal pneumoconiosis, coal-silica pneumoconiosis and silicosis were 17.

Methods: After preparation of recombinant material with PL, allogeneic decalcified bone granules (ADBG) and collagen type I (CG), 30 healthy Wistar rats were used to prepare the bilateral bone defects in femoral condyles. Objective: To examine the effects of alendronate (ALN) on IL-1beta-stimulated chondrocyte of rabbit in vitro and on cartilage and subchondral bone in rabbit osteoarthritis (OA) induced by anterior cruciate ligament transection (ACLT).
Methods: The chondrocytes from articular surface of healthy 3-month-old Japanese White rabbits were obtained by the method of enzyme digestion and cultured in vitro. The third generation chondrocytes were assigned into three groups: the chondrocytes were cultured in DMEM medium with 10 ng/mL IL-1beta for 2 days, subsequently with (ALN group, group A1) or without (IL-1beta group, group B1) 1 x 10(-6) mol/L ALN for 3 days; the chondrocytes in vacant group (group C1) were cultured in DMEM medium for 5 days.

Methods: From the parental hMSC-TERT cell line, we derived 30 monoclonal cell lines and two independent cell lines based on different plating densities during expansion in culture. Their adipocytic, osteogenic, neuronal differentiation potential in vitro and multidirectional differentiation potential in vivo were analyzed by immunohistochemistry for pathologic tissue markers.

Objective: To investigate whether the effect of N-acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline (AcSDKP) on transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta1) and connective tissues growth factor (CTGF) was involved in AcSDKP's antifibrotic effect on the rats with silicosis.
Methods: Rats were divided into 6 groups randomly, 10 rats in each group: Control of silicotic model: 1.0 ml normal sodium and was killed after 4 or 8 weeks; Silicotic model 1: 50 mg/ml silica suspension and was killed after 4 weeks; Silicotic model 2: 50 mg/ml silica suspension and was killed after 8 weeks; Anti-fibrosis treatment of AcSDKP: after each rat was intratracheally instilled with 50 mg/ml silica suspension for 4 weeks, AcSDKP 800 microg/(kg x d) was administered into every rat and rats were killed at the 8 weeks; Preventing fibrosis treatment of AcSDKP: after AcSDKP [800 microg/(kg x d)] was administered into every rat for 48 hours, each rat was intratracheally instilled with 50 mg/ml silica suspension and rats were killed at the 8 weeks.
