To analyze the cardiac T2* value, liver iron concentration (LIC) , and related laboratory parameters in myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) with iron overload and evaluate the changes of organ functions after iron chelation therapy. To explore the value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) T2* in making early diagnosis and assessing organs iron overload. Retrospective investigation was used to observe the cardiac T2* value, LIC, iron metabolism parameters and related laboratory parameters of 85 MDS patients from Nov 2014 to Jan 2018.

Cerebral venous and sinus thrombosis is a rare cerebrovascular disorder, which seldom represents a complication of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). As a part of the coagulopathy of APL, thrombosis is a less recognized and underestimated life-threatening manifestation and is overshadowed by the more obvious bleeding complications. Here, we described a 28-year-old woman with APL who developed massive thrombosis of the cerebral sinuses while on induction treatment with all-trans retinoic acid.

Objective: To investigate phenotype, cell differentiation and cytogenetic properties of bone marrow (BM) mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) separated from the myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients. And to analyze cytogenetic aberration of MSC derived from MDS (MDS-MSC) and its mechanism in pathogenesis of MDS.
Methods: Adherent MSC from both myelodysplastic (n = 22) and normal (n = 7) marrow were obtained by a stromal culture procedure.

Objective: To explore the significance of MR and endoscopy in the postoperative management of skull base reconstruction with a vascular pedicle nasoseptal mucoperiosteal flap.
Method: The immediate, and delayed postoperative MR imaging scans and endoscopic data of 8 patients who underwent endonasal endoscopic reconstruction of skull base dural defects with a vascular pedicle nasoseptal mucoperiosteal flap were retrospectively studied. Among the 8 patients, 7 cases have integrated immediate, delayed postoperative MR and synchronous endoscopic data which were harvest at the first week and at a 3- to 7-month interval respectively.

Objective: To introduce a method and the clinical effects of repairing skull base defects and dural defects using vascular pedicled nasoseptal mucoperiosteal flaps through an endoscopic endonasal approach.
Methods: The clinical and follow-up data for 8 patients who underwent endoscopic endonasal reconstruction of skull base defects and cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea with a vascular pedicled nasoseptal mucoperiosteal flap between July 2008 and March 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. All patients were male.

Purpose: The primary aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the relationship between three-dimensional dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance (3D-DCE-MR) imaging parameters and clinicopathological features of rectal cancer and assess their potential as new radiological prognostic predictors.
Materials And Methods: Three-dimensional DCE-MR was performed on 26 cases of pathologically proved rectal adenocarcinoma 1 week prior to operation. Data were analysed to calculate transfer constant (Ktrans), leakage space (Ve) and rate constant (Kep) of both tumour and normal rectal wall.

Objectives: We compare the T1 and T2 relaxation times and magnetization transfer ratios (MTRs) of normal subjects and patients with osteoarthritis (OA) to evaluate the ability of these techniques to aid in the early diagnosis and treatment of OA.
Materials And Methods: The knee joints in 11 normal volunteers and 40 patients with OA were prospectively evaluated using T1 relaxation times as measured using delayed gadolinium-enhanced MRI of cartilage (dGEMRIC), T2 relaxation times (multiple spin-echo sequence, T2 mapping), and MTRs. The OA patients were further categorized into mild, moderate, and severe OA.

Objective: To analyze the mRNA expression of omentin mRNA level in subcutaneous and omental adipose tissues of normal, obese, and type 2 diabetic individuals and to investigate the relationship between omentin mRNA expression and serum omentin level, body fat parameters, glucose and lipid metabolism, and insulin resistance indexes.
Methods: 36 patients with benign diseases undergoing selective abdominal operation, 19 males and 17 females, aged 20 - 65, included 12 with normal glucose regulation and normal weight (NGR-NW group), 12 with normal glucose regulation and overweight/obesity (NGR-OW/OB group), and 12 with type 2 diabetes and overweight/obesity (T2DM-OW/OB group). Abdominal subcutaneous and omental adipose tissues were obtained during operation.

Aim: To investigate the effects of specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte induced by sensitized dendritic cells(DCs)with PTD-HBcAg fusion protein on inhibiting HBV in vitro.
Methods: DCs were cultured and induced maturation by different fusion proteins, and cocultured with allogeneic T cells to detect the secretion level of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and INF-gamma in the supernatants of T cells by ELISA. Intracellular cytokine of proliferative T cells was analyzed by flow cytometry and the specific CTL activity was measured by a lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of combined use of implantation of (125)I seeds with regional arterial infusion chemotherapy on late-staged pancreatic carcinoma.
Methods: During operation, (125)I seeds were implanted into tumor parenchyma or operative beds for 7 patients with pathological diagnosis of late-staged pancreatic carcinoma, then chemotherapy pump was implanted into common hepatic artery or celiac artery through left gastric artery or right epigastric artery. Gemcitabine (1000 mg/m(2)) plus fluorouracil (500 mg/m(2)) was used for postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy once a week for 7 consecutive weeks.

Objective: To study serum adiponectin level in relation to body fat distribution and tissue insulin sensitivity by using the extended hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp technique.
Methods: Extended hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp was performed in 44 Chinese individuals with normal glucose tolerance from Shanghai area, including 12 subjects with normal weight [body mass index (BMI) < 25 kg/m(2)], 19 with overweight (25 kg/m(2) < or = BMI < 30 kg/m(2)), and 13 with obesity (BMI > or = 30 kg/m(2)). The rate of insulin-mediated glucose disposal (Rd) during the steady state of glucose clamp was used to assess the peripheral tissue insulin sensitivity.
