Background: Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are one of the major participants in the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). However, the mechanism of interaction between TILs and tumors is complex and remains unclear.

Objective: To evaluate the state of immunoreactions in PDAC tissues, and explore the prognostic value of these markers in a large sample, to provide a new theoretical basis for PDAC immunotherapy.

The study investigated the role of Akt1 through the cardioprotection of high-concentration hydrogen (HCH). C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into the following groups: sham, I/R, I/R + HCH, I/R + HCH + LY294002 (PI3K inhibitor), I/R + HCH + wortmannin (PI3K inhibitor), I/R + LY294002, and I/R + wortmannin. After 45 min of ischemia, HCH (67% H and 33% O) was administered to mice during a 90-min reperfusion.

MiR-199a/b-5p inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma progression by post-transcriptionally suppressing ROCK1.

Oncotarget

September 2017

Institute of Immunology and National Key Laboratory of Medical Immunology, Second Military Medical University, Shanghai 200433, China.

In this study, we explored the actions of miR-199a/b-5p during hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression and its potential target genes. Through heatmap miRNA expression analysis of 15 matched HCC tumor and adjacent non-tumor liver tissues from the TCGA database, we detected 19 mRNAs that were upregulated and 13 that were downregulated specifically in HCC. Among these, miR-199 family members were downregulated in HCC tumors and cell lines, as compared to controls.

Hedgehog(HH) pathway is found to be activated through a manner of canonical, or the non-canonical HH pathways. Distinct hyperplasia stroma around tumor cells is supposed to express pro-inflammatory cytokines abundantly, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), etc. in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) tissues.

Novel therapy for anti-glomerular basement membrane disease with IgA nephropathy: A case report.

Exp Ther Med

May 2016

Department of Medicine, Kidney Institute of PLA, Changzheng Hospital, Second Military Medical University, Shanghai 200003, P.R. China.

Anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) disease is characterized by circulating anti-GBM antibodies and deposition of these antibodies in the renal GBM. Renal involvement in anti-GBM is more severe when compared with other types of immune-mediated glomerulonephritis, and the majority of patients manifest progressive renal failure, leading to end-stage renal disease. In a limited number of cases, anti-GBM disease has been shown to be accompanied with other immune-mediated glomerulonephritis.

MicroRNA-222 Controls Human Pancreatic Cancer Cell Line Capan-2 Proliferation by P57 Targeting.

J Cancer

November 2015

1. Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Digestive Disease Institute, Shanghai Tongji Hospital, Tongji University School of Medicine, Shanghai 200065, China.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is one of the most common cancers and has a poor prognosis due to late diagnosis and ineffective therapeutic multimodality. MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are a group of non-coding, small RNAs with active biological activities. In our investigation, human pancreatic cancer cell line Capan-2 were transfected with miR-222 mimics, inhibitors or their negative controls.

Bladder cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed urological malignancies. Acquired resistance to chemotherapy is a great barrier for achieving successful treatment of bladder cancer. In the present study, we investigated the effect and mechanisms of icaritin, a flavonol glycoside derived from genus Epimedium, against human bladder cancer cells.

Objective: To explore the influence of enoxaparin on clinical events after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods: We recruited 400 patients that had undergone the percutaneous coronary intervention without complications in the Cardiology Department of Changhai Hospital consecutively from May 2011 to December 2012. The patients were randomly assigned to receive anticoagulation therapy (enoxaparin) or no anticoagulant.

To clarify anatomy-related risk factors in the cervical spine with subsidence of titanium mesh cage (TMC) after one-level cervical corpectomy and fusion, we have assessed the radiological examinations and clinical outcomes for 236 patients. All the patients were underwent one-level corpectomy and TMC fusion between August 2003 and March 2006. The effects of the cervical posture, segmental curvature and endplate gradient on the postoperative phenomenon for these patients were evaluated.

Oxidized high-density lipoprotein impairs the function of human renal proximal tubule epithelial cells through CD36.

Int J Mol Med

August 2014

Kidney Institute of PLA, Department of Medicine, Changzheng Hospital, Second Military Medical University, Shanghai 200003, P.R. China.

Unlike native high-density lipoprotein (HDL), oxidized HDL exerts adverse effects in a number of diseases, including chronic kidney disease (CKD); however, the mechanisms involved in this process remain unclear. In the present study, we investigated the effects of oxidized HDL on renal tubular cells, which play an important role in the progression of CKD. Human renal proximal tubule epithelial cells (HK-2) were cultured and stimulated with various concentrations of oxidized HDL in the absence or presence of CD36 siRNA.

There are controversies on the association between interleukin-13 (IL-13) +1923C/T polymorphism (rs1295686) and the risk of asthma. We performed this study to assess the association by the method of meta-analysis. A systematic search current to October 16, 2012, was conducted using PubMed, EMBASE, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and identified ten studies comprising 13698 cases and 38209 controls.

Femoral venous hemostasis in children using the technique of "figure-of-eight" sutures.

Congenit Heart Dis

December 2014

Department of Cardiology, No.411 Hospital of PLA, Shanghai, China; Department of Cardiology, Changhai Hospital, Second Military Medical University, Shanghai, China.

Background: Structural heart interventions require the use of relatively large-diameter delivery sheaths or latex nylon net balloon catheters, which results in a relatively large-diameter venous puncture point. At present, femoral venous hemostasis is achieved by manual compression. A temporary figure-of-eight subcutaneous suture has been introduced to achieve immediate postprocedural femoral venous hemostasis after using a ≥24Fr sheath in an adult.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis of spine: a comparative study of clinical, imaging features, and diagnosis in children, adolescents, and adults.

Spine J

September 2013

Department of Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery, Changzheng Hospital, The Second Military Medical University, 415 Fengyang Rd, Shanghai 200003, China; Department of Orthopaedics, No. 411 Hospital of PLA, 15 Dongjiangwan Rd., Shanghai 200081, China.

Background Context: Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) of the spine has been well documented in the literature, but most studies concern management of the disease. No focused report on the differences in clinical and radiographic features of spinal LCH among children, adolescents, and adults exists.

Purpose: To review and stress the clinical and imaging differences of spinal LCH in children, adolescents, and adults to avoid false diagnosis.

February 2010

Stomatological Center of Nanjing Command, No. 411 Hospital of PLA, Shanghai 200081, China.

Supernumerary teeth is one of the dysplasia that the number of the teeth are more than physical number. Most cases of reports were with 1-2 supernumerary teeth and rare cases were with more than 3 supernumerary teeth. A 17-year old female patient of 7 impacted supernumerary teeth were found because of toothache of premolar caused by impacted supernumerary teeth and were treated by extraction of impacted supernumerary teeth.
