Objective: We conducted this study to compare the efficacy and safety of entecavir and tenofovir in the treatment of treatment-naïve HBV e antigen (HBeAg)-positive patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) for 144 weeks.

Methods: A total of 320 treatment-naïve HBeAg-positive CHB patients who received randomly a single regimen of either entecavir capsule (ETV) (n = 160) or tenofovir disoproxil fumarate capsule (TDF) (n = 160) for 144 weeks were consecutively enrolled from 14 tertiary hospitals or university hospitals in China between January 2012 and December 2014.

Results: Two groups showed no difference in baseline characteristics.

College of Biological and Environmental Engineering, Zhejiang Shuren University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang 310015, P.R. China.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent malignancies worldwide. Histone‑lysine N‑methyltransferase SET7/9 is a protein lysine monomethylase that methylates histone H3K4 as well as various non‑histone proteins. Deregulation of SET7/9 is frequently detected in human cancers.

Many studies have examined the association between the FABP2 (rs1799883) Ala54Thr gene polymorphism and type 2 diabetes mellitus risk (T2DM) in various populations, but their results have been inconsistent. To assess this relationship more precisely, A HuGE review and meta-analysis were performed. The PubMed and CNKI database was searched for case-control studies published up to April 2014.

A number of studies have investigated the association between TNF-308 (rs1800629 G/A) polymorphisms and the susceptibility towards tuberculosis (TB) in different populations. However, many of these studies provided inconsistent results. In this study, a systematic review and meta-analysis of the published studies was performed to gain a clearer understanding of this association.

[Effect of rapid decompression on rat multifocal electroretinogram].

Zhonghua Lao Dong Wei Sheng Zhi Ye Bing Za Zhi

September 2010

Department of Ophthalmology, The No. 81 Hospital of PLA, Nanjing 210002, China.

Objective: To observe the effect of rapid decompression on rat multifocal electroretinogram (mfERG) and to explore the characteristics of the retinal function impairment due to decompression sickness at early stage.

Methods: Twenty rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal control (NC) group, safe decompression (SD) group, 0 h and 6 h after rapid decompression (RD0 and RD6) groups. The treated rats in safe decompression group and each rapid decompression group were exposed in hyperbaric cabin and air pressure in the cabin rose up to 1.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and drug resistance of azithromycin administered via continuous infusion versus intermittent administration in rats with Mycoplasma pneumonia-induced pneumonia.

Methods: Pneumonia was induced in rats by intranasal administration of mycoplasma suspension. The rats with established pneumonia were randomly divided into continuous and intermittent infusion groups with intraperitoneal azithromycin injection on a daily basis for 6 consecutive days, or for 3 consecutive days followed by a 3-day rest (which was repeated twice), respectively.

Objective: To construct a RU486 inducible recombinant adenovirus of murine IL-12 protein and study its effect and safety on colonic cancer.

Methods: The replication-defective recombinant adenovirus were produced after cotransfection of shutter vector pDC-RUmIL-12 and adenovirus DNA helper plasmid pBHGloxDeltaE1, 3Cre into HEK293 cells. The recombined adenovirus was purified by CsCl density gradient centrifugation and its titer was determined by end point dilution assay.
