Background: The safety and efficacy of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) inhibitor therapy for most common rheumatological diseases, ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in controlled clinical trials is well-studied. This study evaluated subcutaneous (SC) golimumab in Indian patients with active spondyloarthritis (SpA) of AS or PsA in a real-world setting.

Materials And Methods: This phase 4, multicenter, prospective, non-comparative, interventional, 24-week study was performed in patients (age ≥18 years) with active SpA of AS or PsA (NCT03733925).

Background: Cervical degenerative disc disease is a common condition in neurosurgical practice. Elimination of a motion segment through fusion causes the load shift to the adjacent levels leading to disc degeneration. Our hypothesis is that by avoiding excessive dissection of the prevertebral soft tissue and placing anchoring screws away the adjacent endplate, we can reduce the load bearing and degeneration rate.

Renal lymphoma is an uncommon renal tumor in children. Unlike renal lymphomas presenting as bilateral disease and renal failure, we report a boy who presented with unilateral renal involvement. After initial nephrectomy, he achieved remission with multiagent chemotherapy but relapsed systemically within 3 months.

Introduction: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common malignancy in children. 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) and methotrexate are backbone drugs for maintenance phase of treatment. Purine Analogs 6-MP/6-thioguanine/azathiopurine are metabolized to its inactive form by the enzyme thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT).

Introduction: Childhood chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) accounts for less than 3% of all childhood leukemias, hence, data on imatinib (IM) in adult CML patients has been largely extrapolated to children. We have analyzed our data to add to the existing literature.

Aims: Primary objective is to assess the progression-free survival (PFS).

Carbapenem-resistant pathogens cause infections associated with significant morbidity and mortality. This study evaluates the use of the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay for rapid and cost-effective detection of bla(NDM-1) and bla(KPC) genes among carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria in comparison with conventional PCR and existing phenotypic methods. A total of 60 carbapenem-resistant clinical isolates [Escherichia coli (15), Klebsiella pneumoniae (22), Acinetobacter baumannii (23)] were screened for the presence of carbapenemases (bla(KPC) and bla(NDM-1)) using phenotypic methods such as the modified Hodge test (MHT) and combined disc test (CDT) and molecular methods such as conventional PCR and LAMP assay.
