Background: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a debilitating disorder that presents with sudden onset of severe, unilateral, paroxysmal, and lancinating pain usually lasting for few seconds to few minutes.

Aims And Objectives: The main aim of our study was to correlate the prepontine cisternal space thickness, with a severity of neurovascular compression (NVC) and percentage reduction of pain (patient outcome).

Materials And Methods: Ours is an observational prospective study of 40 patients presenting with TN for magnetic resonance imaging in our department.

Pathologists and clinicians need to be aware of the advances in diagnosis and the changes which occur after chemotherapy to offer the optimal treatment to each patient. The present work aims to study the morphologic and immunohistochemical (IHC) profile of primary ovarian cancers with an assessment of post-chemotherapy changes.

Immunoglobulin G4-Related Lesions in Autoimmune Diseases: Unusual Presentations at Atypical Sites-A Tale of 2 Cases with Literature Review.

Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) coexisting with clinically apparent autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), is a rarely documented combination in the scientific literature. In this case-based review, we present 2 intriguing cases with preexisting autoimmune diseases, namely, RA and primary APS, who exhibited coexistent IgG4- related lesions at unusual sites. The first case pertains to a patient with known RA who presented with an encasing mass in the esophagus leading to stricture, with histopathological diagnosis of IgG4-RD.

Neurocognitive Profile and F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography Brain Imaging Correlation in Children with Electrical Status Epilepticus during Sleep.

 Electrical status epilepticus in sleep (ESES) is defined by near-continuous epileptiform discharges during sleep along with cognitive, behavioral, and/or imaging abnormalities. We studied the neurocognitive profile and their correlation with F fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG PET) brain abnormalities in children with ESES.  Fourteen children with ESES with normal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) from March to December 2019 were included.

Efficacy and Safety of Argon Plasma Coagulation for the Ablation of Barrett's Esophagus: A Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Background/aims: Argon plasma coagulation (APC) is an alternate ablative method to radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of Barrett's esophagus (BE), and it is preferred due to its lower cost and widespread availability. The present meta-analysis aimed to analyze the safety and efficacy of APC for the management of BE.

Methods: A literature search from January 2000 to November 2022 was done for studies analyzing the outcome of APC in BE.

Diagnostic efficacy of endoscopic ultrasound-guided liver biopsy for diffuse liver diseases and its predictors - a multicentric retrospective analysis.

Aim Of The Study: Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided liver biopsy (LB) has become an increasingly popular method of tissue acquisition for evaluating liver diseases. Despite its advantages, EUS-LB has not been widely adopted in clinical practice due to concerns regarding efficacy and safety. Present data on EUS-LB from India are scarce.

Indian TrANslational GlomerulonephrItis BioLogy nEtwork (I-TANGIBLE): Design and Methods.

Background And Aim: Primary glomerular disease accounts for one-sixth of all chronic kidney diseases (CKDs) in India. We remain limited in our ability to effectively treat these conditions because of lack of understanding of the disease mechanisms and lack of predictors to identify the clinical course and therapeutic responsiveness. We propose to develop a network of investigators in glomerular diseases, collect information in a systematic fashion to understand the clinical outcomes, answer translational research questions better, and identify and recruit patients for clinical trials.

Novel Mutations in Indian Population with Cardiomyopathies.

Background: Mutations in Myosin Binding Protein C () are one of the most frequent causes of cardiomyopathies in the world, but not much data are available in India.

Methods: We carried out targeted direct sequencing of in 115 hypertrophic (HCM) and 127 dilated (DCM) cardiomyopathies against 197 ethnically matched healthy controls from India.

Results: We detected 34 single nucleotide variations in , of which 19 were novel.

Harmonized Diagnostic Assessment of Dementia for Longitudinal Aging Study in India (LASI DAD) is an extensive study on late-life cognition and dementia. This study examines the link between nutrition and cognitive abilities in older adults using data from the LASI DAD.

Does a coaxial double pigtail stent reduce adverse events after lumen apposing metal stent placement for pancreatic fluid collections? A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Lumen apposing metal stents (LAMSs) have a higher clinical success rate for managing pancreatic fluid collections. But they are associated with adverse events (AEs) like bleeding, migration, buried stent, occlusion, and infection. It has been hypothesized that placing a double pigtail stent (DPS) within LAMS may mitigate these AEs.

Upfront tofacitinib in patients with biological-naïve ulcerative colitis - An Indian multicentric experience.

Objectives: Tofacitinib is a Janus Kinase inhibitor used for treating moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC), mainly after the failure of biological therapy. There is a paucity of data on the outcome of tofacitinib in biological-naïve UC patients. The present study was aimed at analyzing the safety and efficacy of tofacitinib in biological-naïve Indian patients with UC.

Cardiotoxicity in breast cancer treatment: Causes and mitigation.

Survivorship issues and treatment related toxicities have considerably increased in breast cancer patients following improved therapeutic options. Cardiotoxicity has been a major treatment related side effects in these patients. Despite this being a well-known entity, the real magnitude of the problem remains an enigma.

Serum interferon-alpha predicts in-hospital mortality in patients hospitalised with acute severe lupus.

Objectives: Dysregulation of interferon-alpha (IFN-α) is considered central to the immunological abnormalities observed in SLE. Short-term mortality during high disease activity in lupus is up to 30%. Adenovirus vector-introduced IFN-α into a lupus-prone mouse causes the development of glomerulonephritis and death within weeks.

Efficacy of lumen-apposing metal stents for the management of benign gastrointestinal stricture: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) are an evolving option for the management of benign gastrointestinal (GI) strictures. Multiple studies have reported on the efficacy and safety of LAMS for benign GI strictures, but were limited by their small sample size. Hence, we conducted this meta-analysis to assess the critical role of LAMS for the management of benign GI strictures.

Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Testis in a Patient With Cecal Carcinoma.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) are uncommon tumors that can be classified among fibroinflammatory disorders. IMTs are diagnosed after excluding all other entities, which can be considered differential diagnoses of IMTs. Microscopic examination of IMTs shows multiple myofibroblastic spindle cells, which are surrounded by inflammation.

A rare case of giant mediastino-pleural lipoma.

Lipomas are common benign neoplastic mesenchymal tumours arising from adipose tissue anywhere in the body. Giant intra-thoracic lipoma extending across the anterior mediastinum into bilateral pleural spaces causing compression of the underlying lung resulting in respiratory embarrassment is rarely seen and reported. Giant lipomas of thorax require surgical excision as they continue to grow and cause compressive symptoms.

Clinicohistoradiological and surgical outcome in diffuse midline glioma.

Purpose: Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG) with H3K27M mutation is a rare and aggressive midline high grade glioma with a predominant astrocytic differentiation and K27M mutation in either H3F3A or HIST1H3B/C. This tumor is more common in children than in adults. The current study was aimed to determine clinicohistoradiological and surgical outcome of patients who have undergone surgery for DMG and study disease severity of patients with DMG.
