Objective: This investigation attempted to examine the effectiveness of CT-derived peritumoral and intratumoral radiomics in forecasting microsatellite instability (MSI) status preoperatively among gastric cancer (GC) patients.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on GC patients from February 2019 to December 2023 across three healthcare institutions. 364 patients (including 41 microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) and 323 microsatellite instability-low/stable (MSI-L/S)) were stratified into a training set (n = 202), an internal validation set (n = 84), and an external validation set (n = 78).

Background: Postoperative spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) is a rare but serious complication following lumbar surgery, with cauda equina syndrome (CES) being one of its most devastating outcomes. While CES typically presents with a combination of bladder and/or bowel dysfunction, diminished sensation in the saddle area, and motor or sensory changes in the lower limbs, atypical cases with isolated urinary symptoms are less recognized and pose significant diagnostic challenges.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a 46-year-old male who developed CES following lumbar microdiscectomy, presenting solely with urinary retention, without the classic signs of lower limb weakness or perineal sensory loss.

Background: Neoadjuvant immunotherapy holds promise in managing resectable locally advanced gastric cancer (GC), adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG), and esophageal cancer (EC). However, consensus is lacking regarding the efficacy of programmed death-1 (PD-1) and programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors in neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (NICT). This study aims to assess the added benefit of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) for these malignancies.

Background: M6A RNA methylation and the tumor microenvironment (TME) have been reported to play important roles in the progression and prognosis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). However, whether m6A RNA methylation regulators affect the TME in ccRCC remains unknown. Thus, we aimed to evaluate comprehensively the effect of m6A RNA methylation regulators on the TME in ccRCC.

Resveratrol (RSV) has been shown to prevent epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in different diseases by modulating several signaling pathways, and RSV can prevent EMT by modulating the signaling of the TGF-β/Smad axis. In the development of renal ischemia‒reperfusion injury (RIRI), RSV and MSC-derived exosomes could ameliorate RIRI via different signaling pathways. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of RSV plus MSC-derived exosomes on the prognosis of RIRI.
