Tetrastigma hemsleyanum (TH) has attracted much attention for its heat clearing and detoxification effects, but whether it can become an effective feed supplement in chickens remains unclear. Herein, a total of 120 male Jinhua yellow chickens (two-mth-old) were randomly divided into into four groups (CON, TH-L, TH-M, and TH-H) for a 56-day feeding trial to explore its effects on growth performance and underlying mechanism. Results revealed that dietary TH notably increased the average daily growth (ADG), and decreased the average daily feed intake (ADFI) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) in TH-H group during 29-56 days.

Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Der p) subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials of childhood allergic rhinitis (AR). Currently, there is a lack of some generally accepted biomarkers that may predict the clinical response to SCIT to eventually achieve personalized therapy. In this study, 28 children with AR received Der p SCIT for 26-30 months at baseline, and four efficacy endpoints, serum interleukin (IL)-5, periostin, Der p-specific IgE (sIgE), and Der p sIgG4, were measured by ELSIA.

Some cases of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) require surgical treatment and postoperative nasal packing, but bleeding and adhesion are common complications after nasal surgery. Biodegradable drug-loaded implants hold great therapeutic options for the treatment of CRS, but little data are available regarding the safety and efficacy of a novel drug-loaded haemostatic sponge (DLHS) in the sinus. The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of DLHS in the sinus.

Over the past ten years, significant advancements have been made in exploring plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles (PELNs) for disease therapeutics and drug delivery. PELNs, as inherent nanoscale particles comprised of proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and secondary metabolites, exhibit the capacity for cellular uptake by human cells. This intercellular interaction transcends biological boundaries, effectively influencing biological functions in animals.

Hypertrophic scar (HS) tends to raised above skin level with high inflammatory microenvironment and excessive proliferation of myofibroblasts. The HS therapy remains challenging due to dense scar tissue which makes it hard to penetrate, and the side effects resulting from intralesional corticosteroid injection which is the mainstay treatment in clinic. Herein, bilayer microneedle patches combined with dexamethasone and colchicine (DC-MNs) with differential dual-release pattern is designed.

Background: Based on data from the Global Burden of Disease study, the burden of cancer attributable to occupational risks between 1990 and 2019 was explored.
Methods: The estimated burden in different regions was compared in terms of the age-standardized death rates (ASDRs), age-standardized disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) rates, and corresponding estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs). The comparative risk assessment framework was used to estimate the risk of death and DALYs attributable to occupational risk factors.

Background: Resistance to cisplatin (DDP) in patients with ovarian cancer (OC) poses a great challenge to improving the quality of life of patients. Past reports have revealed that naringin can induce apoptosis of OC cells and delay the occurrence of drug resistance in OC cells. However, the molecular role by which naringin inhibits DDP resistance in OC has not been definitively proven by researchers.
