This study aims to explore the chemical structure transformation mechanisms of the main terpenoids in the effective fraction of Euphorbiae Ebracteolatae Radix(EER) during the processing with vinegar. The terpenoids including ent-11α-hydroxyabicta-8(14),13(15)-dien-16,12-olide(HAO), jolkinolide B(JNB), fischeria A(FA), and eupractenoid A(EA) were heated at 160 ℃ with 6% acetic acid for 40 min, and then LC-MS/MS was employed to analyze the structural transformation rules of the terpenoids. Further, we analyzed the changes in the relative content of the four compounds and their transformation products in raw and vinegar processed EER to verify the transformation rules during the simulated processing with vinegar.

E2F transcription factor 1 (E2F1) is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors. E2F1 binds to DNA with dimerization partner (DP) proteins through an E2 recognition site. The dissociation of E2F1 from retinoblastoma (Rb) protein recovers its transcriptional activity, which drives the cell cycle from the G1 to S phase.

This study aims to characterize the gut microbiota in depressed patients with bipolar disorder (BD) compared with healthy controls (HCs), to examine the effects of quetiapine treatment on the microbiota, and to explore the potential of microbiota as a biomarker for BD diagnosis and treatment outcome. Analysis of 16S-ribosomal RNA gene sequences reveals that gut microbial composition and diversity are significantly different between BD patients and HCs. Phylum and are the predominant bacterial communities in BD patients and HCs, respectively.

International Health Care Center, The First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University Hangzhou 310003, Zhejiang Province, China.

Epiploic appendagitis is a relatively rare disease which includes primary and secondary types. Typical manifestations of Primary Epiploic Appendagitis (PEA) are similar to appendicitis except that it is not usually accompanied with fever or leucocytosis, thus misdiagnosis of diverticulitis or appendicitis in clinical settings is common. In this study, we presented a case study of a patient diagnosed with PEA and recurrent abdominal pain and fever for four months The patient experienced persistent dull abdominal pain since four months age and after tolerating a recent episode of pain for two days, and developed a fewer of up to 39°C accompanied with chills.

To evaluate safety and efficacy of laparoscopy-assisted radical gastrectomy (LARG) for advanced gastric cancer patients aged 70 years or older. Clinical data were retrospectively collected from patients with IIA-IIIC gastric cancer who underwent LARG (n = 30) and open radical gastrectomy (ORG, n = 34) in Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery in the Ningbo First Hospital from January 2012 to December 2013. The mean operative time was longer in the LARG group than in the ORG group but there was no statistical difference between the two groups.

Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor U (PTPRU) has been shown to be a tumor suppressor in colon cancer by dephosphorylating β-catenin and reducing the activation of β-catenin signaling. Here, we investigate the expression of PTPRU protein in gastric cancer cell lines, gastric cancer tissues and respective adjacent non-cancer tissues and find that the 130 kDa nuclear-localized PTPRU fragment is the main PTPRU isoform in gastric cancer cells, whereas the full-length PTPRU is relatively lowly expressed. The level of the 130 kDa PTPRU is higher in gastric cancer tissues than in adjacent non-cancer tissues.
