Objective: To investigate the expression properties, structural features and function of CALR E381A in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) patients.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 435 MPN patients admitted to the Department of Hematology, Ningbo First Hospital from July 2015 to July 2021 were selected as the study subjects. Mutations in exon 9 from genomic DNA samples were identified by PCR, followed by Sanger sequencing.
Liver fibrosis is caused by a variety of pathogenic factors. It is mainly characterized by chronic liver damage mediated by the imbalance between extracellular matrix synthesis and degradation. If the injury factor cannot be removed for a long time, fibrosis will progress to cirrhosis or even cancer.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome is associated with a high mortality, and blood oxygen indexes play an important role in evaluating this disease. The objective of this study was to explore the value of blood oxygen indexes, including minimum oxygen saturation (LSpO), oxygen reduction index (ODI) and time spent with oxygen saturation below 90% (TS 90%), as diagnostic markers for OSA syndrome.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 320 patients with OSA treated in Ningbo First Hospital from June 2018 to June 2021 were included and divided into mild, moderate, and severe groups according to the severity of the condition (n = 104, 92, and 124, respectively).

The human microbiota influences physiology, disease, and metabolic reproduction. The origin of uterine bacteria is controversial. The main assumption is that the germs enter the uterine cavity from the vagina through the cervical canal, bloodstream, fallopian tubes, and gynecological surgical channels.

This study aims to explore the chemical structure transformation mechanisms of the main terpenoids in the effective fraction of Euphorbiae Ebracteolatae Radix(EER) during the processing with vinegar. The terpenoids including ent-11α-hydroxyabicta-8(14),13(15)-dien-16,12-olide(HAO), jolkinolide B(JNB), fischeria A(FA), and eupractenoid A(EA) were heated at 160 ℃ with 6% acetic acid for 40 min, and then LC-MS/MS was employed to analyze the structural transformation rules of the terpenoids. Further, we analyzed the changes in the relative content of the four compounds and their transformation products in raw and vinegar processed EER to verify the transformation rules during the simulated processing with vinegar.

Aim: The study aimed to assess the dissatisfaction of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with the care that they received at a diabetes outpatient clinic in Ningbo, China and to determine the associated factors.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 406 adults with T2DM in 2020-2021. Those who were treated at the diabetes outpatient clinic for at least six consecutive months before the survey date were eligible.
Background: Hypoxic microenvironment is immunosuppressive and protumorigenic, and elevated lactate is an intermediary in the modulation of immune responses. However, as critical lactate transporters, the role of SLC16A1 and SLC16A3 in immune infiltration and evasion of glioma is not fully elucidated.
Methods: Gene expression in low- and high-grade glioma (LGG and GBM) was evaluated with TCGA database.

Liposomal nanomedicine represents a common and versatile carrier for the delivery of both lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs. However, the direct formulation of many chemotherapeutics into a liposomal system remains an enormous challenge. Using the topoisomerase I inhibitor 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN38) as a model drug, we combined lipophilic prodrug construction with subsequent integration into an exogenous liposomal scaffold to assemble a prodrug-formulated liposome for systemic administration.

Exosomes are potential biomarkers, which play an important role in early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of cancer-related diseases. Nevertheless, direct quantification of exosomes in biological fluid, especially in point-of-care tests (POCTs), remains extremely challenging. Herein, we developed a sensitive and portable electrochemical biosensor in combination with smartphones for quantitative analysis of exosomes.

Vascular complications are the important pathophysiologic manifestations of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and many long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are involved in this process. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationships among LncRNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1), microRNA-361-3p (miR-361-3p), and suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) in high glucose (HG)-induced human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) injury and its underlying mechanism. We found that HG treatment significantly promotes MALAT1 and SOCS3 expressions, but inhibits miR-361-3p expression in HUVECs.

E2F transcription factor 1 (E2F1) is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors. E2F1 binds to DNA with dimerization partner (DP) proteins through an E2 recognition site. The dissociation of E2F1 from retinoblastoma (Rb) protein recovers its transcriptional activity, which drives the cell cycle from the G1 to S phase.

Objective: To investigate the advantage of a new procedure of penoplasty by T-shaped incision and three-point fixation (TSI+TPF) in reducing postoperative preputial edema in the treatment of concealed penis.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 244 cases of concealed penis treated in our center between June 2014 and June 2017, 185 by TSI+TPF penoplasty and the other 59 by modified Devine surgery (MDS). We compared the incidence of postoperative preputial edema between the two groups of patients.
Background Elevated long-term systolic blood pressure and resting heart rate (RHR) variability are suggested to amplify the risk of all-cause mortality (ACM). However, the link between increased RHR and pulse pressure for ACM remained unclear. Methods and Results This study analyzed 46 751 individuals from Kailuan Cohort Study for the end outcome of ACM.

Background: Hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) is a primary cause of organ dysfunction occurring during liver resection surgery and transplantation. Galectin-1, an endogenous lectin expressed on lymphoid organs, plays an important role in governing innate and adaptive immunity. This study was designed to determine the therapeutic role of galectin-1 and underlying mechanism in hepatic IRI.

Analysis of 16S-ribosomal RNA gene sequences reveals that gut microbial composition and diversity are significantly different between BD patients and HCs. Phylum and are the predominant bacterial communities in BD patients and HCs, respectively.

Circular RNAs (CircRNAs), the endogenous long noncoding RNAs, unlike linear RNAs, are structurally continuous, covalently closed loops without 5' cap or 3' polyadenylated tail. High-throughput RNA sequencing has enabled the discovery of several endogenous circRNAs in different species and tissues. The circRNAs mainly act as sponges to cytoplasmic microRNA, aid in protein translation, or interact with RNA-binding proteins to generate RNA-protein complexes which control transcription.

Elevated blood pressure (BP) is a growing burden worldwide, leading to over 10 million deaths each year. May Measurement Month (MMM) is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of high BP and to act as a temporary solution to the lack of screening programmes worldwide. In China, several hypertension screening programmes are undertaken in the elderly in the community and in youths at university entrance and graduation.

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), a class of persistent organic pollutant, are closely related to abnormal eye development in children. However, little is known regarding the role of peptides in the development of PCB-induced ocular dysplasia. To characterize the nature of PCB exposure on peptides involved in the development of the ocular system, we used liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to detect differential expression of peptides between normal and PCB-exposed zebrafish embryos.
