Background: Radiotherapy is thought to enhance anti-tumor immunity, particularly when delivered in a hypofractionated and multisite manner. Therefore, we investigated the effects of combining radiotherapy with nivolumab in patients with advanced melanoma.
Methods: This was a multicenter, non-randomized, phase 2 trial that enrolled patients with treatment-naïve metastatic melanoma.

Background: Several studies have demonstrated the interest in patient-specific custom cutting guides in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), but clinical improvement remains debated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional outcomes (Forgotten Joint Score, FJS) of patients undergoing individualized TKA compared with those receiving off-the-shelf (OTS) implants, both using patient-specific cutting guides with personalized alignment over a minimum follow up period of 12 months. We hypothesized that individualized TKA demonstrates significantly better functional outcomes than OTS TKA (FJS and percentage of patients reaching the minimum clinically important difference).

Facioscapulohumeral dystrophy type 1 (FSHD1) displays prominent intra- and interfamilial variability, which complicates the phenotype-genotype correlation. In this retrospective study, we investigated FSHD1 patients classified as category D according to the Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation Form (CCEF), a category defined by FSHD patients showing uncommon clinical features, to identify genetic causes explaining these uncommon phenotypes. Demographics, clinical data and clinical scales of FSHD1 patients were retrospectively evaluated.

Background: A comparison of the operations of Clinical Cancer Centers and Comprehensive Cancer Centers across Europe provides novel data on the interrelation between different factors in care delivery.
Method: The analysis is based on a survey of key dimensions in care delivery, comparing routine treatment, advanced technology integration, research participation, and innovation adoption across the two types of centers.
Results: Clinical Cancer Centers excel in providing routine cancer treatment through multidisciplinary teams but struggle with advanced technology integration and research participation.

Introduction: Improving adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) detection is vital for vaccine safety surveillance, as an early safety signal can help minimize risks. In February 2022, the World Health Organization reported a preliminary signal on sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination, 54 million persons in France received at least one dose, covering 78.8% of the population within a year.

Background: While the use of chemotherapy near the end of life (EOL) has been identified as a relevant criterion for assessing quality of cancer care and has been estimated as non-beneficial, a trend of aggressiveness in cancer care during the last period of life remains. Both patients' sociodemographic characteristics and physicians' practice setting are associated with this use. The role of patients' psychosocial characteristics has however been understudied.

Unlabelled: This phase 2 study investigated pevonedistat + azacitidine + venetoclax ( = 83) versus azacitidine + venetoclax ( = 81) in patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) ineligible for intensive chemotherapy. The study was stopped early following negative results from PANTHER, which evaluated pevonedistat in higher-risk myelodysplastic syndromes/chronic myelomonocytic leukemia or low-blast AML. Outcomes were analyzed up to the datacut.

Cooperative MIMO communication systems play an important role in the development of future sixth-generation (6G) wireless systems incorporating new technologies such as massive MIMO relay systems, dual-polarized antenna arrays, millimeter-wave communications, and, more recently, communications assisted using intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In a companion paper, we provided an overview of cooperative communication systems from a tensor modeling perspective. The objective of the present paper is to provide a comprehensive tutorial on semi-blind receivers for MIMO one-way two-hop relay systems, allowing the joint estimation of transmitted symbols and individual communication channels with only a few pilot symbols.

Physico-chemical similarities of surface proprieties of calcite and apatite make their separation challenging. Effective flotation separation requires sustainable depressants to mitigate environmental consequences associated with traditional chemical reagents. Here, for the first time we explore the potential of phosphorylated starch (PS) derived from potato waste as a green and effective depressant.

Introduction: Our study aimed to identify relevant features associated with the reprisal of antineoplastic treatment in patients with solid cancers after unplanned admittance to the intensive care unit (ICU) and to assess 60th-month survival in patients with solid neoplasms admitted to the ICU.
Methods: This single-centre retrospective study of critically ill patients with active cancers was performed over a 13-year period (2005-2018). Patients' characteristics, overall survival, and antineoplastic treatment reprisal were extracted from digital medical files and compared.

The aim of this paper is to understand how the main drivers of air pollution and greenhouse emissions impact public health in a Smart Territory - meaning a technologically integrated city or neighborhood - as well as how to design an optimized energy system model beyond only data by including the holistic experience of its people through phenomenology and ethics. We understand that a Territory and a City is a complex system where mathematical tool modeling known as Design of Experiment (DOE) and its optimization solutions are required to establish causality and identify the variables that have a broader impact on public health so that mortality rates due to air pollution are reduced. DOE's statistical branch is a novel methodology when applied to energy systems and the design of Smart Territories and Cities.

Purpose: Restoring shoulder function after axillary nerve injury is always a challenge. Transferring a branch of the radial nerve destined to the triceps onto the anterior division of the axillary nerve has become the preferred technique. However, this is not always possible, especially when the axillary nerve is severely injured around the posterior part of the humeral neck.

Background: A pilot HIV testing programme, Au Labo sans Ordo (ALSO; "to the laboratory without prescription") was implemented in two French Fast-Track Cities Initiative areas from 07/2019 to 12/2020. ALSO aimed to remove barriers to HIV testing by providing free testing with widespread access through all laboratories, extended opening hours, and no prescription requirements.
Objectives: Assessing the ALSO programme in terms of testing activity, user characteristics, and costs, compared to other HIV testing offers.

This study aimed to review the current body of literature on underexplored areas of photobiomodulation (PBM) for preventing and/or treating oral adverse events. Recent studies suggest that PBM may offer potential benefits in managing cancer-related toxicities other than oral mucositis. Nevertheless, further research to establish conclusive evidence is still missing.

The targeted therapies and immunotherapies in thoracic oncology, particularly for NS-NSCLC, are associated with an increase in the number of predictive biomarkers to be assessed in routine clinical practice. These treatments are administered thanks to marketing authorization for use in daily practice or are evaluated during clinical trials. Since the molecular targets to be identified are more and more complex and numerous, it is now mandatory to use NGS.

Purpose: To explore the future of former anatomy tutors, their perception of the impact that the anatomy near-peer teaching (NPT) program have had on them, in terms of academic performance, professional development, personal growth, long-term anatomical knowledge, and views on body donor ethics. Additionally, we compared their academic performance with non-tutor peers in terms of ranking at the National Qualifying Examination (NQE).
Methods: A voluntary survey was emailed to all anatomy tutors from 2005 to 2024, using an online Google Forms questionnaire including closed and open-ended questions across four themes.

Radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS) is the earliest stage in the disease continuum of multiple sclerosis (MS). RIS is discovered incidentally in individuals who are asymptomatic but have typical lesions in the brain and/or spinal cord suggestive of demyelination. The 2009 and revised 2023 RIS criteria were developed for diagnosis.
